Panda (Pandora/Pandy/PandaLion) has a lot of toy mice. When she "catches" them, she brings them to us making the most interesting sounds. It's a bit like a cat sounds when it's in heat. I really need to video this!
She got some "bigger" mice a few weeks ago, and is now "catching" them exclusively. Every morning when we wake up she has brought us at least one. If we've been real good, we get two!

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/9/2012 4:32:49 AM)

I almost always wake up with a chirpie on the bed. *sigh* It's not so bad when it's one of the chirpless ones... this morning it was the one that still chirps. I rolled over onto it. Scared me awake! LOL

xxblushesxx -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/9/2012 4:44:28 AM)

I LOVE those! Mine will play with them when I throw them, but they're not the favorites. Around here, SIZE MATTERS! [:-][:D]

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/9/2012 4:47:14 AM)

Cashie LOVES his chirpies!! They are just the right size for batting around and CATCHING/CARRYING (yanno, since he's the BIG HUNTER).
LMAO!! I have a box that the cats love to play in. The step stool is next to it atm. I just watched Amos use the step stool to climb into the box! LOL!!

The kitties are getting used to me not being home all day. I worked from home for 2 1/2 years and am now back in an office again, which is just fine by me.

Nah, they don't miss ya at all! They are all sacked out in the warm toasty bed you left this morning! They are just letting you think they are traumatized to see what goodies and treats they can soak you for! [:)]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/9/2012 9:04:59 AM)

Nah Angel, there's nothing I can do about any of it. The fact that she didn't have any time to take off sick didn't even bother her. Me, I'm at home for the next 2 days, unpaid from both jobs, just to try to recover. My voice is shot to hell, which makes it really hard to answer phones and talk to people. I have a severe case of bronchitis, hopefully, got it caught before it goes any farther. I'm on an inhaler and antibiotics......I just want it to take effect fast, I can't stand sleeping sitting up. Every time I lay down, it feels like there's an elephant on my chest. Of course, this morning, it was actually Bit Bit on my chest....who'd a thunk a little squirt like him could feel so heavy?

It just kills me how inconsiderate some people can be!

Well, Angel was sacked out in the warm toasty bed, but she's a greedy thing and now won't let Misty in the bed (unless I threaten her with the spray bottle, which I wasn't there to do). I don't think Misty's too uncomfortable on the sofa, though.

NuevaVida -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/9/2012 8:00:32 PM)

Right now Viktor's sitting on top of the fridge, meowing at the ceiling.  For the last 10 minutes.

Color me clueless...

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 12:34:29 AM)

He's talking to a ghost, silly girl! Or an imaginary bug....which ever lets you sleep at night! [:D]

What I absolutely hate is when the cats are on the bed and staring out the door like there's someone right outside the door.....and then they appear to "follow" something inside the room. I swear they do it just to spook me...no pun intended!

Kana -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 12:42:16 AM)

They are having kitty Olympics, charging up and down the house, the stairs, getting into brawls. They are just bein' baaaaaaaaad :-)

tazzygirl -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 12:57:44 AM)

Lilly is all out of sorts. She doesnt understand what is wrong with Binxie.

Binxie is in so much pain she now lays beneath the bedside table and simply stares at us. She went 5 weeks between pain shots and suddenly we had to get an emergency appointment, thats how fast her pain hit her. We took her back to the vet, he gave her a stronger dose of narcotics, added more steroids and antibiotics.. that was last Friday. She came home and for a few days, we a bit perkier. Now she just lays there. We both pet her under the table during the day. Make sure she has food and water, treats always available. We changed to wet food for her, but she is losing weight fast. We gently pull her out in the evening and lay on the bed with her. Tonight as we were lightly petting her, she was crying. Her hip bones are so prominent, and they hurt when we stroke over them. Her shoulder, the one the vet broke when we first took her in, is now twice the size of the other.

I told the man we are taking her back to the vet tomorrow. He is afraid the vet will put her to sleep. I cant bare to see her in pain.

Its simply breaking me heart to watch her waste away.

Its hurting my soul to watch the pain John is going through as he tries to come to grips with losing his baby of over 8 years.

And I dont know what to do about Lilly. She wont use the litter box, wakes up crying from what I perceive to be bad dreams, and wont even go beneath the bed with Binxie.

Its been about three months since her cancer diagnosis. I do feel so blessed to have had this time with her.

*hugs Tazzy*

Cripes Tazz-you're breaking my heart. Big good thoughts and warm fuzzies massivly headed your way...if one of my gals got the big C and I had to watch em waste away, I think it would crush me.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Poor gal.

Kaliko -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 1:04:47 AM)

Oh, Tazzy. I'm so sorry. I went through that almost very same thing (not a cancer diagnosis, but watching my cat lose weight and suffer like that with illness). It's so hard, and my other cat did indeed have a hard time recovering from the eventual loss of her friend.

Your post put me into tears. It is so difficult to go through that.

(If it means anything, I do believe that the fact that Lilly won't go under the bed with Binxie is normal cat behavior. If a cat is unwell, she will retreat somewhere to be alone, and I believe that other cats know and honor that.)

My kitten did that after her surgery when it got infected and I was terrified for days-I was so worried she was trying to crawl off somewhere to die.
It was downright scary.
Big hugs all around.

LOL yes I hate that, too.  He spent all night (while I was trying to sleep) pawing at my comforter, then jumping on it and "attacking it". Good grief.

Tazzy....sooooo sorry - your post is heartbreaking. [:(]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 1:11:23 PM)

Tazzy, my heart goes out to your and yours. I know the decision you face all to well, but I know that you'll have the strength to do what's right. Cats that are sick isolate themselves, usually in some place that they can hide in...it's an instinct thing. And Lilly will stay away from her. It sounds like she's in a huge amount of pain, which I know is the way I judged when it was time.

Lilly will probably mourn too......KB did when I lost his dog, Shiloh. Which doesn't make a hard time any easier. I just gave KB attention and let him work thru it. He was like Velcro for a while, but he was hurting too.

As for John, I hope he allows himself to grieve also. Only other pet owners understand how it IS like losing a member of the family when you lose a pet. Binxie can't be replaced, but maybe in the future, another little kitteh will happen along that can fill the hole left behind.

Lilly should start using her box and everything once this is over....she's reacting to the stress in the only way she knows how. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all of you.

SoulDadTX -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 4:40:00 PM)

Hugs {{{{Tazzygirl}}}}. I am so sorry you are having to go through that. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 5:09:09 PM)

As one who has lost two kitties to cancer, my heart goes out to you, Tazzy. It is so painful to see an animal suffer. Sunday is the one-year anniversary of the death of my kitty, Lily. I had her put down due to intestinal cancer.

tazzygirl -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/10/2012 5:18:31 PM)

Im sorry I dumped on everyone. We take her in tomorrow at 10am. When I called I clued the vet assistant in on what was happening. We decided to allow the vet to make the call. John is hopeful. I am resigned.
