Trying to go to sleep on my keyboard

NuevaVida -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/9/2013 11:40:39 PM)

Hmm, without sounding like a freak (it's a long story) but I was running up and down my hallway. This excited Viktor and he ran alongside me, it was the funniest thing. Up and down the hallway we went, with him looking up at me like, "This is fun!! Why are we doing this??"

Then he conked out and fell asleep (now I know what to do at bed time!). Now he's sleeping on the head rest part of my recliner, SNORING! He's been with me 5 years and this is the first time I've ever heard him snore. It's so dang cute!!

I gave Binx some nip. She is going to town on that little pinch!

FelineRanger -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/10/2013 12:34:15 PM)

I have a cat skull on my desk staring at me. Does that count?

mnottertail -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/10/2013 12:37:04 PM)

Alas, is it poor Yorick?  I knew him.  Well; that's that.

FelineRanger -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/10/2013 12:40:14 PM)

He was a fellow of infinite jest ... I assume. The truth is that I found the skull on the grounds ot the apartment complex where I was working at the time, thought it was really cool, and kept it.

Angel loves to run with me when I run in the house, too. Unfortunately, when I run in the house I am chasing Misty to give her sub-q fluids or put her in her carrier. When I am chasing Misty, I have to remember to put Angel in another room or outside. Otherwise, she thinks we are playing a really cool (to her) game of chasing Misty and tries to "help" me corner and catch Misty. This TOTALLY stresses poor Misty out. It's bad enough when I chase her alone, but she really doesn't appreciate Angel being part of the mix. I make it a point not to let it happen.

Well, I ended up moving after all, and the fourth day we were here, in a terrible storm, Bitty snuck out on me. I got up about 2am to feed the crew and noticed I was short a cat. The last time I was out was about 10pm. So, it's 2am, and I out looking for him in the pouring rain and thunder. I had to work, but the new supervisor I have was so cool, she let me use her car to come home thru the day to look for him. Long story short, the other folks staying here and all the hotel staff were alerted by me calling every 30 minutes, so there were about 15 people looking for him. I notified the local animal control and humane society in case he showed up there. I scoured the whole area and the neighborhood behind the hotel for 4 days and almost given up hope when I made one more pass thru the lot calling Bitty. Went into the room, and about 30 minutes later, looked outside and he was sitting on the railing. He was clean, not injured at all and not even hungry, so I'm guessing that someone had him inside knowing he was a pet, and he finally got out and returned home. I knew he'd come back if he could hear me, I just can't believe that he left in the middle of a storm like that.

His guardian angel was certainly working overtime.....we're right on a 5 lane road, he has no experience with dogs or unfriendly cats, and there are hawks and stuff like that all over the place. Of course, he aged me by 10 years, and didn't even have the decency to apologize for it! Brat!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/16/2013 7:10:15 PM)

Thank God for Bitty's safe return! What a relief that must have been after him being out for four day!

NuevaVida -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/16/2013 8:50:31 PM)

OMG if Viktor were gone for 4 days I'd be a complete freaking mess. I'm soooo glad you found him!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/19/2013 5:27:43 PM)

Misty was bound and determined to interrupt my meditation today. She kept pawing me in the face. I think because Angel was outside, she wanted some "Mommy and me" time, which she did end up getting after she finally let me meditate in peace (sort of).

Kaliko -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/19/2013 5:40:36 PM)

My cat has completely changed personalities as well. I have two - one was fine when Awareness was here, but the other one was scared to death of him. She was skittish to start out with, never even really hung out in the same room with me. Well, since he's left, she loves me. It's as if she's so relieved he's gone and she realizes I'm not so bad after all, comparatively speaking. :)

RottenJohnny -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/20/2013 11:57:07 PM)

Unfortunately, mine is taking his permanent dirt nap. Almost 7 years later and I still miss him. But then, I had him for 15 years. What's worse is that every once in awhile my brain still thinks it sees him sleeping under the car or stepping around the corner from the hallway into the living room. Even now I sometimes have a hard time thinking about replacing him. For me, he was one of a kind.

angelikaJ -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/21/2013 4:16:29 PM)

We had thunderstorms for the past hour and I could not find her anywhere.

She popped out from under the couch when it was finally winding down.

Oh, and she likes yogurt and raspberry smoothies with chia seeds.
I discovered that last night.
(no sugar, just yogurt, frozen unsweetened raspberries and chia seeds)

garyFLR -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/22/2013 9:44:06 AM)

My cat's sleeping on my lap, actually it's not my cat?!

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/23/2013 9:28:37 AM)

There really is no "replacing" a beloved furbaby. I have lost three since becoming an adult and having my own pets, and each time, I lose a part of my heart and soul. But the furbabies I end up getting help to fill the void left behind. I can't see myself without at least one, I'm actually up to 5 right now. They all came along at a point in my life that I had the room for them, and they needed me as much as I need them.

You really should give another furbaby a chance, RJ. Not to replace your beloved lost one, but to add to the happiness quotient in your life. It sounds sappy, but it's true. The only recommendation I'd make is to get at least two....and to adopt them from your local humane society.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/23/2013 9:31:09 AM)

And Bitty's adventure may have cured him from trying another outing......he doesn't seem so determined to sneak out on me. I can't describe the relief I felt when he showed up! He's not much for cuddling and hugging, but he had to just deal with it! He seems to be content enough to watch the world go by thru the window.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (5/23/2013 6:19:03 PM)

Yep, Bitty is no longer a huge fan of the outdoors. I took them all outside on their leashes, and I'm not sure if it was the loud noises from the traffic on the highway, or what, but Bitty didn't stray to far away from the door, KB didn't go out at all, and neither would Squeaks. Smooch and Boo went out and watched the birdies I threw bread out for, but we weren't outside for long.

Urmel is snoring on top of my cupboard in my lounge...
