Curry and Pepper moved yesterday to my boyfriend until I found my new place (approx. in september)....Damn clever girl Pepper managed twice to escape her carrier box [>:][>:][>:] Therefore she had to share the carrier basket together with her brother Curry....at least then that shit stopped, regarding getting out of it [>:][>:][>:]

Well, big papa was aggressive with a lady this morning.kinda surprised, but it may have been my fault. I dont much like the lady he attacked, and it wasnt like he clawed her, just a lot of hissing and dominance exhibition. My fluffy big papa.here for just a few weeks and already protective.im flattered.

The kittens are both sleeping. Big papa and his brother are watching birds

My baby girl cat is laying on the back of my chair, purring. She is almost 1 now. Are attitudes transferable to cats? lol. She has started this thing when anyone new comes in the house she hisses repeatedly, and has even started chasing them down, as if to intimidate them! I didn't know cats could be so territorial.

I don't know what Angel got into during her outside adventure. It is some type of tar-like substance. She's going to have an uneven haircut for awhile, as I am going to snip it out of her fur.

They both got to enjoy a few licks of Summer Peach ice cream. Since it contains sugar, and sugar isn't good for kittehs, they got to enjoy it in a VERY limited quantity.

Annie, the cat my parents ended up with when I went into the Army was VERY territorial. She would literally growl like a dog when someone came to the house. It took me a long time to locate one of those joke "attack cat" signs.......people thought it was funny until they actually saw her. She'd sit there and growl and stare at the "interloper". My mom did sewing out of the house, and when folks came over to drop off or pick up their items, she'd follow them in the house until they left.

And my mom also babysat.....14 kids, 8 of them under the age of 5. They'd get running around being too loud, and Annie would simply sit in their running path and when the kids came tearing thru, they'd see her and the first one in line would stop, and the rest of them behind her would run into the one in front....like a chain reaction. Annie definitely ruled the roost.

And she absolutely HATED my brother in law....who loves animals, and Annie eventually up moving into their house when my parents went out on the road. One day, he was scolding my nephew and Annie went after him, got between them and bit him. Annie weighed about 30 pounds, and when she bit, she went for the meaty part of the body, bit deep, and then hung there, deadweight. Since the first reaction was to pull away, you'd rip the shit out of yourself.....trust me, I know that firsthand. No one really knows why she was like she was, she had a bad attitude, loved my niece and nephew, and her best bud was a cockatiel. When she finally had to be put down due to cancer, she was brought home and buried under her favorite tree in the backyard by the same man that she hated with a passion, and my dad. They were both in tears.

I just laugh at every person who tells me that cats aren't good people pets. I have always had a cat or two, or 5, and not a single one of them were the same. Right now, I have two brothers, and they aren't even close to being alike. But every one of them meet me at the door when I come in, and they talk to me and there is no doubt that they love me. They may be a pain in the butt sometimes, but who isn't?

Oh thank you for that story! Comical!!!!
I had a 4th of July party, and the challenge became who would be Tiara's, my cats friend. She attacked everyone who approached her!!! except one man, my friends Mexican husband. Maybe she doesn't like white people? LOL. IM white though. What was funny though, she did let him pet her, and sat pretty without any attitude, but when he stopped petting her she smugly started walking away, looked over her shoulder and did her signature HISS AND SPIT! She did a good job entertaining the guests. LOL.

My cat Lily was very terrirorial, too, but only toward men. She HATED my ex male sub passionately. She would growl at him, hiss, and look at him menacingly, though she never actually attacked him. I think she resented his presence in the house and the amount of attention he received from me. After that relationship ended, she would view any male that entered the house with suspicion. If I carried on a conversation with a man while sitting down, she would position herself between me and the man like she was guarding me. She would also shoot him a look like, "isn't it time you were on your way?" She didn't act that way at all around women. She passed away in 2011 and fortunately my current cats don't have any hostility toward men at all.

Angel just had her annual physical exam and shots at the vets and is so relieved to be home again. She somehow managed to lose a pound in the last year, which is a good thing, bringing her down to "only" 12.5 lb., LOL.

KB, my oldest male, is by far the most passive aggressive cat I own. I really don't need a dom.....I already have one. If he could swing a flogger, I'd be happy.

When he wants something, he doesn't demand it so much as wear me down.....he'll sit and stare at e or meow pathetically until I cave and get up. Unfortunately, Bitty is picking up on some of his habits. I haven't had a straight night's sleep for years, except when I had my appendix out....then KB and crew all huddled around me in bed to make me feel better.

When I had a play partner, he'd come over and KB would come in and "observe". He'd sit on the pillow, or at the head of the bed and after a bit, he'd curl up and go to sleep. Closing the bedroom door was not an option, he gets his paw under it and starts pulling on it and it sounds like there's a freaking SWAT team trying to take the door off! We tried taking him out of the room, but that didn't work either. At first, it was a little weird having him there.......my own little voyeur! Now, it's no biggie.

ha! such great stories. I love cats, I grew up to believe cats were terrible creatures, so for a long time, I joined the bandwagon, until a cat adopted me in my late 20's. I was more of a dog and horse person, cause that is what I knew. But cats are terrific. I have had a few now thru the years, but none quite like this crazy cat.

IM sorry to hear of the death of your cat, animals can become like children for sure.

Thanks, Lily was a very special kitty girl and will always live on in my heart. She was a Siamese mix, smart as a whip, loved to fetch, and had a lot of personality.

I wondered how long it would take for the kittehs to wake up from their naps when I sat down to eat my chicken berry salad. The answer? Less than 30 seconds. They're now in here mooching chicken tidbits.

My Lilly is eating mayo.

jlf1961 -> RE: What is your cat doing? (7/6/2013 7:06:12 PM)

Well they are not my cats, they are feral cats that run between my place and the neighbors, but right now there is a big white persian cat sitting in the tree out front staring at Princess who is staring back making noises that sound like a cross between a growl and a evil laugh.
