My kittehs are praying for Red's kitteh, and shedding, and hiding from the dark, ominous weather that has all local creatures (including hoomins) kinda weirded out..

Squeaks is running around chasing whatever her little eyes see......I don't see a thing, but you know kittehs......she's hiding and jumping out when I walk by, too.

My Chloe-kitty isn't well.  Her billirubin counts were very high.  Her liver is breaking down.  I'm continuing to give her saline drips at night, appetite stimulants, and liver meds.  If she doesn't start eating, we're going to have to "discuss the options" with the vet.  I'm not very happy right now.  I just want my kitty to be ok.  [:(]

{{{{hugs}}}} to you, DRH.  I know how hard it is to go through something like this.  My kitties and I will send positive thoughs and healing energy to Chloe-kitty.

Thank you, sweet lady. Chloe-kitty is currently coming out of sedation, with a new patch of bald belly. I'm very glad the vet said it didn't look cancerous, and he is planning a course of treatment for her while her biopsy goes off to the lab.

So glad to hear that the vet said it didn't look cancerous.  We'll continue to send positive thoughts and healing energy her way.

"Angel" was quite a devil this evening.  First, her sibling Lily tried to jump up in the sink and sit next to her and she hissed at her.  Then she came into my office, jumped on a stack of books, and knocked them all over.  Then she jumped into my file cube box where I keep my work files and knocked several hanging folders off their guides.  Then she was tearing around the house like mad.  Guess all of that tired her out because she's now sitting on a pillow grooming herself, looking all innocent.

Lily's keeping a low profile so she won't get hissed at again.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/28/2010 8:02:16 PM)

hmmm, mystic, I think whatever Angel had my Sqeaks caught....she was running all over the place, jumping on the bookcase, then pouncing on one of the stuffed balls, then she ran away from it like it was the devil himself, and then bowled it over.  She was sitting on it like a little egg she was hatching.  Boo just walked by her and she hissed at him...he wasn't even paying attention to her til she hissed.  Of course, since he used to terrorize her when she first moved in, it's no surprise that she warns him off.  Now, she'll go after him......and he looks at me like "MOM!  She's trying to hurt me!"  For now, she's chilling on the back of the loveseat......

KIDS!!!!

My kittehs are helping me do the housework. They are especially good at keeping me company in the kitchen, blocking forward motion by hoomin feets and at adding fur to the pile of clean clothes, so when teh hoomins put on the clothes, they will be all nice and warm and stuff. Bless their hearts..

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/29/2010 7:16:05 AM)

SJ, NO outfit is complete until it's covered in cat hair!  That's one of the rules of kitteh ownership......apparently, your kittehs didn't come with the manual, you might wanna look for a copy....it'll save you time and effort in the long run!

When it comes to housework, mine love to help me sweep....unfortunately, they like to roll in the piles of debris that I have swept into a nice little pile.  I did finally discover that if I bring out the ugly monster (vacuum cleaner) and put it in plain view, they will pretty much vacate the area.

Right now, this place is like the valley of the dead.....kitteh bodes in sunbeams and windows, soaking up the fresh air and working on their tans!  KB is sitting behind me....nope, make that up here with me by the computer, more than likely plotting his next bit o' trouble!

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/29/2010 2:59:18 PM)

Meanie allowed me to pet him today.  Trouble is trying his evil eye look on me. Momma is somewhere here.

Mom wishes that the smell of the deck treatment will keep them away...These cats will stay if I can get Mom to agree that they stay outdoors and I buy their food.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/29/2010 5:21:13 PM)

Angel and Misty are busy grooming themselves, fastiduous creatures that they are.  Lily is in the office with me, availing herself of the opportunity to have my undivided attention with no other feline competitors.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/1/2010 12:31:42 PM)

Squeaks was playing with a malted milk ball that she swiped...she didn't know whether to play with it or eat it.....I think she ended up chewing on it.  I picked up what was left of it, and she got up on the computer desk and hooked a tootsie roll and ran off with that....she was batting it around like a little dervish, but she's lost it under something, cuz now she's just wandering.....check that....she just flopped down on the floor on her back with her legs spread in 4 different directions.....she has NO modesty whatsoever!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/1/2010 5:17:45 PM)

Angel has lived up to her name today.  She jumped up and rubbed her little cheek against mine and gave me some kitty kisses, all the time purring.

Lily has decided to reasssert her claim on the sofa.  She had been avoiding it because Angel sleeps there, but now she stays on the other end.  They both actually slept on the sofa amicably for several hours, which is progress for them.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/2/2010 7:47:39 PM)

Well another mystery solved.  I was wondering how pieces of dry catfood were ending up in the water bowl, when the bowls are kept apart.  Tonight I caught Angel taking pieces of dry cat food in her mouth, placing them in the water bowl, letting them soak a moment, then retrieving them out of the water bowl with her paw and eating them.  Like a kid dunking oreos in milk?  It would be okay if she retrieved every piece from the water bowl, but she doesn't always do that [&:]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/2/2010 8:38:01 PM)

She's just saving them for later, Mystic...could be worse....my mom's cat, Tabby, tries to teach her little colored furry mice to swim in their waterbowl, which leaves the water a very pretty color, and one waterlogged mouse!  And one not-so-happy cat.....he tries to fish them out, but since they are soaked, he doesn't want to play with them.  WET FEET, WET FEET, NONONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He drops them by the bowl and yells for mom to come dry it off for him.......which, of course, like every cat's slave, she does!

hausboy -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/2/2010 9:17:05 PM)

Okay, I was JUST about to retire for the night....and someone directed me to this forum...

and I just couldn't resist.

I have two maine coon mixes...
Maximus is waiting for me in bed.  a good idea, come to think of it...I have a long day tomorrow...

Louie is sitting on the toilet seat waiting for me to pet him -- don't blame me, he picked that spot! even the damn cat is kinky....

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2010 3:59:13 PM)

What is it with Maine coons and potty's?  Squeaks HAS to sit on it, and when I'm in there already occupying it, she has to be picked up and held......tends to make taking care of business a little tough sometimes...balancing 20 lbs of kitteh on my shoulder ain't easy!  Plus, instead of drinking out of her nice clean filtered kitteh fountain, she has to drink out of the toilet too!  None of the other 3 kittehs bother with the toilet......especially Boo.....one fall into it was enough!  And that was 5 years ago!

For now, the kittehs are chillin'......dinner was served, so everyone's happy.

PeanutTigerinBox -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2010 4:50:13 PM)

When I started to cook dinner earlier I heated water...and curry thought thats a great idea to drink out of it....but no way, not with me, I redirected him to his food bowl [>:]

righit now all are lieing around and napping.

earlier my birman summer tried to defend the top of the shelf when curry jumped onto it as well...surprisingly how curry did not tell her straight, seems that he accepts her being in charge, too....so they were both lieing on my shelf on each end....but bny now he moved up to her and has his had cuddled up on her back side....at present I have to say they are quite a nice and caring group to each other, apart from spicy who prefers to be on his own...summer tells her son off daily, probably as he still tries to get some milk but is by now almost 4 months old, but curry and pepper give him his tlc...so he isnt going without it...

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2010 4:57:40 PM)

All 3 are hiding from me. hopefully is a dry spot (in the old tool sled).

TOTALLY!  I have to keep the lids closed on my toilets or I'd have both of them drinking out of it!  Well, Maine Coons are really dogs for cat people.....or cats for dog people...    I've got a 19 pounder and my lightweight is a 15 pounder.  (mixes...if they were full-blood Maine Coons, they'd like be more than 20 lbs)

DarkSteven -> RE: What is your cat doing? (11/3/2010 7:33:50 PM)

Beats hell out of me what he's doing. He escaped from the house a few hours ago and is still on the loose.  The idiot thinks he's at the top of the food chain here - he's never met a coyote or fox.  He's pulled this before and come out okay... I have no reason to believe that this time will be different.

But still...
