I am curious, if I am going to be with a Dom or Domme, where should we go for our first "session"?  Or should I just go to their place, let my friends know where I am and how long I'm going to be and tell them I'm going to call them at whatever time, then let whoever I am meeting be aware of this instead?

Are you talking about meeting someone for the very first time and doing a scene with them? That's not something I would do at all. I feel a lot more comfortable getting to know someone until I trust them enough to do a scene wherever it is convenient for the both of us.

I set up a safe call the first time I meet someone and I might the first time I play, but so far I haven't felt the need to have one after the first meeting.

Do you mean your first session or your first encounter? If it's your first encounter, I'd suggest dinner and a movie.

Public places are always good, maybe tell a friend you trust what's going on and give them information as well.

When I arranged to meet and play with Master for the first time we met in a hotel that I had stayed in before so was comfortable with (yes we did meet and play on the first meet).

Are you meeting them for the 1st time or simply your 1st scene together?
I would personally never scene w/ anyone the 1st time we meet regardless of the place we meet.

Meeting first, play later. :)  Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

I would say at a mall not only because to many people for him to do something stupid, but many things to do as well

I prefer a Starbucks inside a bookstore. Even if the meet's a bust, I can always find a book to cheer me up.

First play? Whatever makes you most comfortable. It's your call.

FR...

on the giving your friends a time you will call subject, if you decide to go that route, make sure you give yourself plenty of time for the whole scene including before care, aftercare, anything that might go wrong or different, coming down, and just plain anything else you don't think of so they don't freak out if you don't call at exactly this time...when i gave my friends a time it was usually the morning after...

I always meet for coffee at a coffeeshop in a place where there's something else to do in case we either hit it off or where I can go if it doesn't.
