*slaps forehead (not fourhead)*

more wheaties are needed. I cannot believe one has spelled so erroneously. Thankfully I am a Human and not a Robot.

Texasma'am, you have gold on your hands. What a lovely refurbished Cadillac Sub.

:D

Watch out, if you pay attention to detail, point out inconsistencies, or challenge her posting with any rigor --- you might get tagged for "stalking" or "bashing."

Thank you for responding and elaborating. I am glad you two have reached a happy relationship and congratulate you for it :)

I understand that your presentations focus a lot on the psychology of it all.  That's a subject by which I don't think I'll ever stop being fascinated.  Should you make it across the pond to do some similar gigs here, you're assured of a crashpad in one city, at least.  (And while you're here you could show me how the devil you're able to press your feet up against your chest like that.)

You are correct--they focus on the psychology, and how to effectively communicate this psychology. Coming across the pond is on the agenda at some point. I hope to time it with a Club Pedestal event. And looks like in addition to discussing psychology, we'll have to discuss yoga ;-)

Cheers,

Sea

No worries, I have the armor ready ;-)

Kidding aside, I would prefer a discussion that has a breakthrough over exchanging acrimony. Anyone can engage in acrimony and to have a breakthrough is more an achievement. While we have briefly talked about the why's, and these why's have come more from those pondering the why's than those who seem to be upset by the topic, I don't have a good grasp of why some dommes are as offended as they are to see opposition to tribute. The mood seems to be more towards venting than discussion and I invite a shift towards constructive discussion.

I would love it if a domme who is upset by opposition to tribute would explain why, and address the counterpoints that are raised without saying that anyone who opposes tribute hates women or is cheap--that does not make an argument.

Cheers,

Sea

If you've paid attention to the thread, you'd see some pretty good points made, Sea. Have you been following along? That said, "cheap" is a good argument in my book. Just because its not in yours doesn't make it a non-point at all. Just sayin'.

Noreen, you forgot to capitalize the "y" in You when referring to ms. pact. [:D]

I am glad to see you are flirting with Noreen. I think you two have things in common and bet you two would make a good couple.

What was that about acrimony, Sea? On the basis of hypocrisy, I suspect you and Peon might make a good couple. Hmmm...guy/guy action! [:)]

PeonForHer -> RE: BOIZ, LEMME TELL YOU HOW IT'S DONE....THAT TIRED OLD TOPIC, "TRIBUTE"..... (9/7/2009 1:25:13 PM)

I'm sure that were I ever to 'jump to the other side of the garden fence', and were Sea to show any interest, I'd certainly be knocking at his door. [;)]

But what about Sea's observation re your obvious warmth towards NoreenDawn?  I must say, I do agree with his feeling that you two would make an excellent match.  You both have clearly managed to preserve a refreshingly youthful outlook on the world, for instance.

I have engaged in even greater acrimony. I prefer not to do so but I have the capacity to respond in like.

I give respect to all people, whether they are women, men, dominants or submissives. What happens to that respect from there depends on the person. I am less likely to give respect to a person who does not extend it to others.

I have been unimpressed by each of your posts here. How I feel about you and am responding to you is a direct consequence of your posts.

I knew a guy named Isaac years ago in grade school. He had a very annoying personality and was not very well liked. I am wondering because anything is possible--did you by any chance go to grade school in Indiana?

If you are going to take jabs at people, at least be a little creative.

Cheers,

Sea

Please point me to what was said that you think made for good points.

What is the premise for the cheap argument? As it is, it seems to be arbitrarily presented with no rationale presented.

Sea

Sea's My bitch and anyone who insults him, by way of reference, insults Me.  I ask you to refrain from this behaviour and to give the Dominants and submissives of this forum appropriate respect.  And if you can't behave yourself... well then y'all can just sit and spin on it!  The rest of you whiney, petulant, selfish, self absorbed limpdicks can sit up and take notice of how a 'real man' pays tribute!  That's how it's done.

Bad me!  I just couldn't help myself!  I do hope you all know I mean no slight. :-)

SimplyIsaac:  my post (above) is a joke.  It's not meant argumentatively or as an attack.

Andalusite -> RE: BOIZ, LEMME TELL YOU HOW IT'S DONE....THAT TIRED OLD TOPIC, "TRIBUTE"..... (9/7/2009 2:35:47 PM)

That sounds pretty reasonable to me, Sea. Although, to me, financial domination may be completely unrelated to tribute. For example, my submissive in the past added my name to his bank account and gave me an extra ATM card for it. I didn't *use* that authority very often, other than for our household expenses (we lived together), and certainly wouldn't have just transferred the balance to my account or bought something expensive without consulting him! He did enjoy buying things for me - some more expensive, but often it was the smallest things that meant the most. I don't see that as being all that different from vanilla couples - plenty of people in LTRs share finances in various ways. If one person is horrible at balancing the checkbook or is an impulse shopper or isn't educated about investing, I think it can make sense for them to turn over their finances to their partner who is better at those things, until they *do* learn more skills or acquire better self-control. I would never want to be outright paid for my time or for doing BDSM with/to a partner, whether just casually or in a relationship.

Plenty of vanilla women also expect men to pay on dates and appreciate gifts, although it's not common to have an outright demand for cash on the barrelhead. I can't blame men, no matter what their BDSM inclinations are, for not wanting to participate in that.

I got such a good deal on it too! By buying it used, I was able to shave off I don't know what percent of the sticker price! Sorry for not having a stereo and AC in there. They were extra and they wouldn't throw em in for free. I hope the chime box and the hand fan are suitable substitutes ;-)

Cheers,

Sea

Thanks for the response. I agree. I think professional domination, tribute in the manner I defined it to be, gifts as expressions of fondness, and financial domination are four separate entities that are sometimes blurred together due to the broad use and interpretation of the word tribute.

I see no issue with what you describe about your past relationship. To me it sounds like a healthy relationship based on good will and trust.

Cheers,

Sea

Well, you do know how much I adore hand fans.  And, the pattern you picked matches my favourite tie.  How absolutely perfect.  Good boy!

That actually sounds like fun - though (phew) a big thing to do, as well.  The other variation I've considered is that all my money goes into her account and she, thereafter, gives me 'pocket money'.  But, yes - I know - that, I know, can go ever so slightly wrong later . . . .

Yes, I bought the tie at the same Asian grocery store where I bought the fans. The stitching on the tie was coming apart last time you wore it so I used some duct tape. I didn't want to throw it away because, you know, that's wasteful. I think the duct tape helps pull out the grey tones in the tie though.

Cheers,

Sea
