and APPARENTLY i just found out that yes, indeed, you CAN have an allergic reation to the "newer, safer!" types of insulin on the market.  *eyeroll*

or as i told my doctor "how come i have to be special?"

two days in the hospital, 3 different 'scrips for allergy medications, and two different endocrinologists saying "i've NEVER seen anyone have that sort of reaction!" later....and i'm ok.

i got very lucky, i only had a rash on my face and itchiness.  i could have had full on anaphlaxis, and i didnt.  i just had itching bad enough i wanted to claw my face off my skull.  (thank the gods for acrylic nails, cause they didnt do the damage i *could* have done if i just had my natural nails)

better now.  but dang.

I'm glad you're came through it okay.

I. too, have odd allergic reactions to things. It can make life "exciting."

and having the odd reaction just makes us special i guess.

I know exactly how you feel. I am allergic to so many meds, I keep a card in my billfold in case of emergency. Benedryel is my best friend...

i hear ya.  and have you thought about joining medalert?  if you dont care to wear the stupid freaking brace....yeah i have issues LOL

anyway, if you dont wear the bracelet, they have a card for in the wallet and all your information on file when the 800 number is called.  i've had that for a while now.
