Greetings. I was somewhat surprised that I hadn't heard of CollarMe before, but now that I have, I drew up an account quite quickly. The forums seem very active and supportive, and I'm hopeful for some excellent discussion. That said, the customary introduction...
I am a 23 year old Dominant male, currently living in Boston. Professionally, I am an independent IT consultant with current contracts focusing on network security, web server management, and software development.
By night I am a superhero!
Actually, by night I try to remember that I am 23. When I can get away from work or work-related study I enjoy taking part in all the life the city of Boston has to offer. I'm partial to electronic (particularly industrial) music, art exhibits, and cinema. I can often be found spending my free time at some of the Boston clubs that play electronic music, but more likely at underground parties. If I ever have the time again, I would like to get back into music production and DJing. Aside from that, the rest of my time is taken up with writing for an electronic magazine that is decidedly non-popular, and managing a project to put refurbished hardware in the hands of homeless families getting back on their feet.
The pertinent facts... I was introduced to BDSM during my teenage years when I accidentally stumbled upon a Gorean IRC channel. I participated in that community for a time, highly curious about the philosophy but uninterested in a cyber-relationship. The thoughts discussed there stuck with me for several years, and I eventually found myself involved with a woman suitable to the lifestyle. That was not a permanent arrangement, and since then I've found myself progressively less and less interested in "vanilla" relationships. Though most eventually turned into a power/control exchange, I've never been completely satisfied. At this point, I'm of the opinion that only a complete Master/slave arrangement will suffice for what I want.
However, I'm not actively looking for that. Actively trying to create such a situation doesn't really mesh with the Taoist beliefs I have lived by.
What are you looking for, then, Enki?
Thank you very much for asking. In truth, I'm looking for a lot of things. Most immediately, I'm looking for good conversation. I've stayed out of the local "scene" due to both personal taste and career considerations. I'm very interested in hearing from others about their personal views on domination/submission, how it impacts their lives, and what draws them to the idea of power exchange. I particularly like hearing success stories. I believe it is very important for members of the BDSM community to share their wisdom with others. From my own personal standing, being a man that favors committed Master/slave relationships, I am always interested in expanding my own understanding of the -many- intricacies of trust, as well as sharing what I have learned in my own experiences.
It's getting a bit late(early), so I'll wrap it up there.
