Arpig -> oh the unintended irony.... (8/18/2009 6:57:17 PM)

I came across this on Youtube today, and I found it ironic that a group that appears to support the old south rising again would be using a song written and performed by Canadians (and yes I know Levon Helm is American, but he's the only American in The Band)

Ooops, might help if I posted the link eh?

I don't know anything about that group who made the video but I do know a bit about history. And certainly that war was a tragedy. I thought the video was well done. I didnt see anything about it that turned me off. It reminded me of when I went to Gettysburg. I must say Gettysburg was a moving memorial.

I certainly think the south has risen from those ashes. So the, "the south will rise again" statement was a bit confusing. But I live in the north and only spent a couple of years living in Atlanta Georgia. Where there were tons of northerners.

All in all I thought the video was pretty interesting. Thanks

It's a song about Dixie. No irony there.

"I heard Mr. Young sing about her. I heard ol' Neil put her down."
