I suspect if you calculate the Man-dollars to female-dollars ratio, at BDSM social events and at many others, it's skewed vastly in the opposite direction!
IMHO, men, like it or not, pay for most social events 10:1 (my wet index finger in the air) over women just as men pay for the Internet (Internet being a lot about bandwidth and bandwidth being a lot about porn which is a lot about men, gay or straight).
Also, the Internet being 10:1 one-way take-only-but-don't-give-back passive (another wet finger in the wind), women being 10:1 passive (more of same), that gets us roughly about 100:1 men to women on the Internet actually creating content.
All rough figures - but if you look at some of my posts on similar topics of male profiles versus female profiles (spamscams skewing figures even further into the government realm of the wholly unknown wild-assed guess) ... it's generally 10:1 or 100:1 fake to real ... much of that fakeness being men scamming men by pretending to be women on the Internet or in profiles.
In the end, counting all the lovely 20-year-old-virgins-who-just-can't-wait-to-get-into-your-pants, you get something like 1000:1 real me to real women on the Internet (in my very humble and unsubstantiated opinion).
Just my experience ... (lucky women, real or scam) ...
