lally2 -> waist chains (8/24/2009 12:34:43 PM)

hi, im looking for a silver waist chain.  ive looked through the internet and have seen a couple of things but they look kinda flimsy and this is something thats gonna need to be worn all the time.  having said that i dont want a bike chain either.  it needs to be strong but feminine

does anyone have a pet site or somewhere that they know of that sells these things.

meantime ill continue to search around.  thank you. x

Home Depot?  Find chain of preference and cut to length. [;)]

You may like #15 ball chain:

It is silver, and durable, and I think probably more feminine than normal link chain.  Tada!

ok, went to look, thats not bad actually, but how would you connect it at both ends - all i can think is that youd have to loop it back on itself somehow and then use a small padlock or something, but that would ruin the look methinks.

I have a silver belly chain I bought from this place:

Mine is for belly dancing, which means it has to be sturdy, it can't just be for decoration.

Tut!  Two SS type A couplings.  $0.32 each.

and one teardrop quicklink that is delicate looking.  $0.08.

Or if you want a slightly tougher feel maybe the oval quicklink.  a whopping $0.24

Also if you ever want to learn to spin fire you can do it with  your belt.

lally my apologies, I forgot you are in the UK.  Home Depot is a national hardware store here.  I'd suggest your local hardware store.  If you have a crafts store (similar to our "Michael's" here), you can probably get a small trinket of sorts to connect the ends.

I have to admit, I like the ballchain that I suggested for idiosyncratic reasons, but in the D/s context those harem chains look pretty sweet.

Its excellent quality. I have recommended this site to many people; I have never known anyone to be dissatisfied.

You are very welcome! Glad to help.

And yes I love their things, when I went to look up this site for you, I couldn't allow myself to scan their merchandise, else I'd be telling myself: "But, but, I *need* a chainmail headpiece !!"

Yes, I've had -really- good luck w/ those folks. I've gotten things for myself which worked out great, but even more telling was that I got several belly and head pieces for my female offspring and step-offspring, and they've held up even through being buried under hundreds of pounds of dirty laundry under the bed, then dragged out by their jewels, bringing the whole pile of laundry with them (and nearly the bed as well), being trampled in the footwell of the back seat of the car, going through the washing machine in a pocket...I'm sure you get the drift.

I agree Dame Calla. They use honest-to-goodness artisan quality workmanship Their things might seem a bit pricey, but they are hand made, and well worth it.
