You know you are visiting California .... when you are watching the Christmas parade and there is a group of folks marching with their surfboards decorated with Christmas bows and ribbons.

You know you live in California or Detroit when you see a Sign that Says Back to School Sale for a Store called "Guns and Knives" It is my most Vivid Memory of any trip to Aneheim. I am told the same store in Detroit has the same sale every year because the place sells uniforms as well.

You know you are in California when your favorite restaurant closes early cause the waves are great.

You know you are in California when you see homeless people feeding their dogs before they eat.

You know you are in California when you overhear someone saying they called out sick because their chakras were out of line.

You know you are in California when you are at a party, talking to someone and they are looking over your shoulder to see if someone more important than you has come in.

You know you are in California when you cross the bridge to Oakland and realize those big contraptions look just like those things in that Star Wars movie and you realize they actually must have been the inspiration for George Lucas.

You know you are in California when you can get a slamming Fish Taco right next to a place where you can have Bulgogi.
