I'm looking for a certain type of clamp and would appreciate any links as to where I can buy them, so thanks in advcance.

It's made of metal, about four or five inches long, in a U-shape. At the open end are two small rubber pads. In the centre is a small lever. By pulling it, the two rubber pads are brought together. The more the lever is pulled, the tighter the pressure. They were the clamps of choice on the now defunct Insex so maybe they are only available in the U.S. If anyone knows of a European, ideally British or German source, that would be even better. I was told they are not specifically a sex toy (I've searched enough BDSM websites without success) but might be used in the construction business, maybe for suspended ceilings.

It's not a European source, but I've purchased them before from Garrett Wade.

What you describe is not a clover leaf clamp. A clover leaf clamp is acutally a sewing tool and can be found a Jo-Ann Fabrics or similar places.

What you describe is a wood working clamp. it can be found at places that sell quality wood working tools. Garet Wade is one of these sources as previously mentioned.

The rubber pads have one side that is round and one side that is flat. You can pop the pads out and turn them around to vary the fit and or tightness of the cl,amp. You can also remove one pad and leave a ring that the other pad then pushes the nipple down into the ring.

The clamps come in different sizes. I have found that the larger size works the best as it allows you to vary the tension easier.

Thank you everyone for your input. Absolutely magnificent result! I did actually purchase a pair from TrussedUK and they are useless! They're small, have no rubber pads and are impossible to adjust with any degree of accuracy. The hinge mechanism is so rigid it's either have them so loose they drop off or make nipple jam! :-O I'll go for the larger ones from Garrett Wade instead.

And if anyone can tell me how to change my status from Vanilla (I am most assuredly one of Ben & Jerry's more exotic varieties!) and get rid of that ice cream cone for something more appropriate, I'd be most grateful.

You can't get rid of the cone until you post many more times. You are a new poster and this is a part of it. We all went through something of the same.

I am sorry it isnt in the UK, but 2 weeks ago while i was looking around Home Depot , i saw them in the suspended ceiling aisle .. 3 sizes. . I am not sure if you have anything like a home depot there, but they were with the misc. hanging ceiling parts rack.
i sort of laugh since they were the same thing i bought online from a bdsm place ut with out a chain

Thank you for the info. It is a world of discovery, this website! Least of which, is that I often have no idea where I'm clicking to next!

A long time ago, I was in TN. As in 1984! :-O As a Brit, I found the accents amazing. At a certain tourist information centre (or center, as you have it) I got the young lady to say "Chatanooga" more times than is healthy!

Meantime, I'll just keep posting till I get some sprinkles on my cone or something!

you can see I still haven't got this replying thing off pat. I tried the Home Depot website but couldn't find them. There are similar shops in Germany and the UK, but having visited the major outlets, exhausted my descriptive abilities and even drawing them enough time (!), I just gave up! And, yes, I did try the suspended ceiling route!

There are multiple sites that sell  good sized clover clamps, The ones i bought are large and have the pull sting to tighten them, Hurt like hell by the way *grins*

Nipple clamps are great if you have the right ones. And as most people mentioned the clover clamp is the nipple clamps that is used for kinky purposes.
It was however made as a third hand for sewing. How they did that is a puzzle to me but I guess that is how people found out it could be used otherwise [:D]

I have personally got these clamps and they have got rubber pads on and they hold better when more pull is on.
