This story just made me laugh, but perhaps, just perhaps, those people bringing guns to the protests aren't doing it in a vacuum... http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/healthcare/la-me-forum-bite4-2009sep04,0,7050355.story Authorities are searching for a healthcare reform supporter who they said bit off the fingertip of a 65-year-old man during a fight at a MoveOn.org rally in Thousand Oaks.

I suspect he has a pretty good case against MoveOn.org to get that bill paid.

Nope...he hit the guy for calling him an idiot....and admitted to it. Doesn't sound like MoveOn.org's fault. It's actually a bit ironic. Had he 'Move'd On'....none of this would've happened.

But it happened in Gloria Allred's area of operations, Tulip, and the biter wouldn't have been there without MoveOn holding a rally. I think that the rule they will try to apply is that the deepest set of pockets get sued. Other than the antibiotics for a human bite though, I can say that a missing fingertip trip to the ER isn't all that expensive anyway.

my "ER bill" comment was a bit of sarcasm, Rich.[;)] i find it sad, really that an actual fight took place. Someone called him an idiot...next thing you know, he punches the guy....somehow, the guy that fought back becomes the suspect, and he's a victim. As far as i know being called a name isn't legal provocation fro punching someone. They both sound like a couple of jerks for letting it get that far.

The concept of "fighting words" isn't completely dead, Tulip. I'm reminded of the video of a dumbass 'we never went to the moon' character, calling Buzz Aldrin a liar and getting punched in the mouth for his trouble.
