Status: offline 		Have any guys here used Nair or Veet "down there" ?

A lady friend of mine prefers me trimmed/shaved. Trimming I don't have a problem with (I have electric clippers) but I'm kinda hesitant about using a razor down there. So, I was thinking of using Nair or Veet. They both work the same, except Veet comes with a plastic razor type deal that can be used to shave away the softened hair, whereas Nair (I think) you just wipe away.

Status: offline 		Nair and Veet are caustic chemicals.  Near the sensitive mucus membranes of the vag, they are likely to be irritating at best.  I you feel you must, try Magic Shave (near the rest of the black-man grroming supplies at the drug store).  Frankly, the simplest and least irritating deforestation program I use is a good old razir, shaving cream, and a mirror.  Waxing produces a nice effect but seems as irritating as anything else.

Status: offline 		my 'sister' uses Veet and it works very well without hardly any irritation at all.  i haven't ever heard of any of the guys i know using it...but considering our Master Steel is the only one we are intimate with, i'm not surprised they aren't sharing their intimate secrets with us.  :)  Anyway, absolutely keep the Veet on hairy areas only.  my 'sister' has gotten it on the inside of her outer lips once.....NOT GOOD.  So very VERY not good.  i could imagine that getting it on the shaft would be about the same thing.  So play very good keep away.  Best of luck to you!!

OH, and Veet also has a sponge thing if you buy the one for applying in the shower.  That kind stays in place a whole lot better.  The sponge works out better than the razor thing most of the time.  But you have to scrub like hell with either.

I use Schick Quattro for women and women's shaving foam.  A cosmetician told me that a razor with four blades would be less irritating and less likely to cause nicks.  She was right.

Status: offline 		How about asking your lady friend to shave or trim you? It is very intimate and personal and alot of women (including myself) enjoy shaving a man. I used to use a mustache trimmer on my ex's genital area. I had a friend who tried Nair and he said it burned more than he could stand

Status: offline 		If you are in the hospital for surgery, a male nurse will shave you 'down there'; and the way they do it is:
(1) DRY shave (no water, no shaving cream;
(2) a disposable razor;
(3) they sprinkleTALC POWDER all over the parts to be shaved befor they start scraping off your pubes.
(4) afterwards they rub some anti-bacterial cream over the parts that they shaved so that there will not be a rash.

Try it slowly and gently yourself. You owe it to your Lady to be totally smooth, no crotch hair or stubble, since she wants you that way.

Status: offline 		I, too, have sensitive skin, so shaving for prolonged periods of time is just not an option for me. Probably why I love having someone who wants to wax me.

Waxing a male's pubes is a whole different ballgame safety wise; many professionals refuse to do it

I'd try the Magic Shave.

Status: offline 		Directions say not to use Nair down there. Why would you not follow the directions? This is how people find themselvs in trouble.

Trust me, some scissors and the Gillete Fussion razors do the trick just fine.

Status: offline 		Actually Fangs, they have a specific formula for Veet and Nair for pubic hair..........


My self,  I use a pink electric trimmer. I use the shortest guard to make everything all the right length, and then use the trimmer without the guard after.  Works every time, and though I may get pinched by the blade, I have never been cut.

Status: offline 		Veet and Nair can cause chemical burns...as i well know just from using it on the legs .... i use a man's bread timmer to get close then a razor to finish it up.

Status: offline 		Also note that chemical defoliants can become irritating after multiple uses. Much like hair dyes, just because it was okey-doke this go-round does not mean it will be safe the next time.

Status: offline 		I also use a Gillette Mach 3 razor too (with edge gel for sensitive skin)  and haven't cut myself in the years since I bought that razor....I cut myself twice in the same place before with another razor and it was soooo painful I am sure if my neighbors could hear me scream they thought I was being killed!...I find the "turbo" version of blades a little bit better than the regular ones...I can shave against the grain with that razor and still not cut myself or even have irritation...but I find the best shave comes from waiting at least 7-10 days between shaves but sometimes it isn't an option....

Status: offline 		I tried using nair once and it wasn't good. I left it on for too long I think and it left a burn but it did work. Your best bet is to either dry shave or do it after a long hot shower (I have done both with the same results). Good luck.

Status: offline 		Nair and veet both work fine down there on men it's women that should not use them down there.   men dont' have the open area's like women there so it's perfectly safe i've been doing it for about 8 years now.  I also have very senstive skin but never really had a problem with either of those.    But they are chemicals and they react different to different people.

Magic shave silver and gold can be excellent for body hair.  A bit too strong for the pudenda.  I stick with a razor for that.

Status: offline 		I shave down there between once a fortnight and once a month so it's not frequent enough to make the skin overly sensitive. Sometimes I dry shave, then apply talcum powder, other times, I wet shave with lots of plain natural unscented soap - build up a good lather. For me the most important and best way to avoid skin irritation is to keep the skin as taught as possible.
