first let me say my piercings are FULLY healed and a year or so old.

I usually use surgical lube when changing my nipple rings from captive rings to barbells. Well, I wanna change them but I'm out of surgical lube. Would my normal lube work? I have Wet original gel lubricant. No flavors, nothing fancy. Just regular lube. You think it would be ok to use that, if I cleaned it off after insertion? And does it make a difference that my barbells are acrylic? (Glittery acid green ones at that [:D])

Nah, Sunny, that should be fine.

I usually change out jewelry when I'm cleaning them, & the soap is the lube . . . . FYI . . . . . Your way is probably nicer . . . . [;)]

& you know about doing hot sea-salted water soaks if they get irritated or infected, right? (Not that that's likely to result from using plain old personal lube instead of the surgical stuff . . . . . But the salt-water soaks should be your first line of recourse if you think something's up with your piercings, while you're waiting to get in touch with your piercer & / or health care provider . . . . . )

ETA: & the lube works with acrylic dildoes, doesn't it? It'll be fine on your jewelry . . . .

IDK I've never used acrylic dildos....[:D]

And yeah, the only thing I use on them sides lube is soap and water and the occasional sea salt soak when needed

I don't have nipple jewelry anymore but when I did I always changed them whilst in the bath with lots of soapy water.
The skin should be well healed by now but the trouble with nipple piercings is that they are random (not a straight line like the ear lobe) and jewelry can easily meet what appears to be a dead end. The other thing I always did because of this was to allow the ring I was taking out to guide the new one through (let the new one push the old one out).

Not sure how old this post is but I hope you have sorted it out.
