Status: offline 		I would like to get a Solomon Island skink someday soon, but all I have are two cats instead. I like to wake a skink up in wintertime with the smell of fresh sliced bananas - they are so damned cute when they eat!

Hm~ Well, have you named them yet? I suppose once you're at that stage we'll have no choice but to count them.

Oh, and Iron Bear, sir, how I envy you. Some of my very favorite python species are native to Oz. I have a pair of Jungle Carpet pythons that I'm hoping will produce a clutch for me this year.

I actually think chameleons are cool and wouldn't mind owning one of those.

Status: offline 		I am seriously arachniphopbic. However I have a passionate love of reptiles.. I dont own any but our home is owned my a multitude of Australian Barking Geckos. The ones living inside are named and come out to talk to us daily... We watch them from when they are conceived (bonking on the window), to their birth to their development and watch them develop their stalking and hunting techniques on the ceiling after insects like mosquitos etc.

Status: offline 		We have heaps of redbacks around, also red belly black snakes and brown snakes..Master is terrified of snakes its a really phobia with him. Suffice to say, slave gets to go out and make the area safe before Master ventures into the shed for whatever *grin*

p.s. Master is gonna kill me for saying this hehe

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen involved snakes. It was two red belly black snakes, they were raised up off the ground entwined like the caduceus symbol, dancing. The sun was shining on them so there red bellies glowed. Doubt i will ever see that again...it was awesome to see.

A commercial reference?! How sad...



Naw, those are skinks. They have lovely prehensile tails and big pink tongues. Very friendly - when they climb on you they will clutch at you as if for dear life, which is exactly what they are doing...they'll use that tail to grip you too.

Oh, oops. I wasn't even thinking about *that*.
I was thinking of the type of snake (man) who is lower than dirt under my feet and who is destined to crawl along on his belly on the cold, hard ground. lol

Status: offline 		Back in Russia I had a wild hedge hog drop by my summer house all the time, that was pretty cool, the females are actually very social and let you pick them up eventually....

Status: offline 		I've always been a serious critter lover. Though my zoo currently consists of two red-tailed boas, rats, dogs, and cats, I've had some other interesting family members in the past. During high school I kept a tarantula for a couple of years, had vinegaroons http://www.key-net.net/users/swb/pet_arthropod/vinegaroon.htm and crayfish in classrooms when I taught, and loved my little anoles as a little girl.

Master, fortunately, is tolerant of slithery things. *smiling*
