What are the dangers of restricting urine flow by pinching the head of the penis closed. I am thinking more of the solid penis plugs that will not be forced out by bladder pressure. Any one have any experience on this?? How about similar flow restructions in females??

A scenerio would be that a plug was inserted into a sub. At some point the sub would need to urinate and possibily not be able to hold it. If the plug would not be forced out by bladder pressure what would happen? Initally and long term.

Try googling urinary blockage. i got this from one link.

"Your kidneys are constantly producing urine, which then travels down into your bladder through tubes called ureters. If you cannot empty your bladder normally, urine will continue to build-up and put pressure on the valves that control the flow of urine from your kidneys down to your bladder."

No idea what sort of timeframes are involved though.

Sorry, messed up that cut and paste job. :-(

The entire quote....

"Your kidneys are constantly producing urine, which then travels down into your bladder through tubes called ureters. If you cannot empty your bladder normally, urine will continue to build-up and put pressure on the valves that control the flow of urine from your kidneys down to your bladder.

Over time, this pressure can become so great that urine is forced back through the valves and up the ureters to your kidneys. This can lead to kidney infection and eventually to kidney failure."

I have treated numerous patients for lower urinary tract obstruction. If the bladder cant empty, it continues to stretch until it reaches its maximum size, which is considerable. Before that size is reached, extreme pain is evident. In 12-24 hours, when the maximum size is reached, pressure inside the bladder and the ureters eventually prevent the kidneys from producing urine. Toxins accumulate in the bloodstream and parts of the kidneys are damaged by the pressure and die. The lining of the bladder becomes damaged from pressure and dies. This happens in about 24-48 hours. After another day or so of obstruction, the patient becomes hypothermic, comatose, and eventually dies of uremic poisoning. Timelines and results vary, but that is what happens. Bill

Thanks for the good info. I wasnt thinking of anything past a few hours, maybe 6. I was thinking more short term and not totally blocked off but not allowed to drain completely and retain some presure. If the flow was stopped or restricted at the head of the penis would there be any harmful backup in the prostate?
