pahunkboy -> help - call to area code 936 ? (9/29/2009 3:53:00 PM)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_code_936

This will sound odd. I have tried to call a friend in TX- for a few weeks.  I use a phone card to her phone which is a cell phone.

I get "all circuits are busy".

Am I doing something wrong?

What could it be?

they dont have enough circuits to route you there. no biggie.

for 3 weeks?

the phone card works for family cell phones in Chicago- so it does call cell phones.

they probably dont have too many carrier agreements down south. if they have 5 routes and a 1000 cardholders, what are your chances of getting thru?

Have you been able to get through to her before Hunky or was it the first time you've done this?

I did use the number when I had my cell phone service.  I no longer have cell service.

And you got through then? In that case something strange is going on. Maybe the phone card is only for certain areas?

I use one I bought at Wal-Mart it costs $0.06 per minute. I can recharge it by phone or right at Wal-Mart. 500 minutes (more than 8 hours) costs $30 plus tax. There is no access charges or any other hidden fees. Just straight up use of talk time. I should also add that it uses the AT&T network and I have never had a problem with service. It can be used from ANY phone.

I wondered if maybe she changed her number.   The phone rings 2x THEN it says all circuits are busy.

Eventually she will pop up in the yahoo group where we posted - so- - she moved a few times...and I changed my number etc.  But she does know where to find me.  One post and it would do it. I am sure I will hear from her at some point even if it is a year later.  We broke off a larger group- and the few that are in the spin off know ....I can be found there.

The phone card is a cheap online no name brand.
