This weekend, I went to a kinky play/pool party with my Master and my submissive playpartner. The two of them had only met up twice before, and we hadn't yet had a chance to play together. I've done a lot of co-topping and being co-topped in the past, and have switched between top and bottom within a scene with the same person. This was the first time I've topped someone while submitting and receiving pain, both in the social area, which was lower-key and more playful, and while I was saran-wrapped to the hamster wheel. She reacted a lot to my response to him, when he pinched my nipples, pulled my hair, and hit me with various things, and he left my arms free so I could do various yummy things to her. Obviously, I wouldn't want to use an implement other than my hands, or strike hard while he was hurting me, since it was delightfully distracting. When it was too much, though, I just stopped in mid-swat or mid-pinch, much like I'll stop in the middle of a word if he does similar things. Anyway, I'm curious if other people have experimented with doing a little of both at the same time.

It's interesting to be someone who is a dominant who enjoys intense sensations. My view is that I am submitting to the sensation and to my own pleasure, not to the person giving me the sensations. And, after all, if I'm a dominant woman, and the other person's body belongs to me, then I can do what I want with it and put bits of it where I want it, give orders, and lay back and enjoy.

That sounds like a SUPER fun scene, Andalusite!! I am not submissive, but years ago I loved heavy sensations, and that kind of thing was right up my alley. I think it's wonderful that you have that kind of relationship, and I want to know what this Hamster Wheel is--do I want one?

AlexandraLynch, I've played with a couple of masochistic dominants, and I agree that S/M and D/s aren't automatically correlated. [:D] LH, we had a blast, and they both thought it was really cute that I couldn't talk properly toward the end, chuckling when I stumbled over "disinfectant." I'm not sure what the official name of the hamster wheel is - I've seen them at a few playparties, and they were originally developed as medical equipment for stretching the spine/etc. It is motorized, and rotates back and forth, but can't quite go all the way around (feet at top, body inverted, or head at top, legs out behind). It's a circular metal frame on wheels, with two bars attached to a footrest. They put a few layers of plastic wrap around the bars for additional support, then another 3 or 4 layers of plastic wrap to hold me to the frame - pretty much mummification, but up to my armpits with my arms free. Getting thwacked over the plastic wrap was new to me - it muffles sting a lot, but seems to intensify thud while kind of spreading it out (so it feels like I was hit with something bigger).

I'm both D and s, and in everyday aspects I can flow with both pretty much simultaneously, causing some bdsm friends to coin the term Duality for Me. However, while I have Topped and bottomed at the one party, it was separated by some down time at the supper table to restock and refresh. Play always gives Me the munchies no matter which side of the kneel I'm on! So I've never combined the 2 in a single play scene but wow, sounds like a heap of fun! I do tend to space fairly easily though, so My sub would probably soon find that I've gone into suspended animation and their sensations have ceased! Certainly something to consider though! Yeah, we played more this way in the "social area" (they encourage light play there, and a couple of other people were doing so as well), when he was just giving my nipple an occasional pinch or pulling my hair a bit. She assisted him with the plastic wrap (holding it after he passed it under, until he could grab it again), passed toys back and forth like a nurse assisting a surgeon, and offered to get water. At first, I was doing more to her, but once I was pretty spacy and uncoordinated, I couldn't do much to her!

I can't do both in one scene. My whole attention is always on what I am doing (or feeling.) Master tried it once and the instant I felt the whip it was like the Domme side was never there. I am definitly a slave with Dommette tendencies.

LH, I talked with my friend who was mentoring us with the needleplay, and he said that the "hamster wheel" is actually the frame for a burn bed, and also used for people who can't be moved for other reasons, to prevent bedsores.
