Timesamyth -> Hot and cold? (10/15/2009 3:43:52 PM)

I'm trying to determine the proper name is for this symptom. I'm on my menstral cycle - My upper torso is getting extremely hot and then goes to cold, and then back to hot, and then back to cold, with this 'cycle' happeing in seconds. That's been going on for about an hour or so. It's causing some minor sweating (not on face )....I did a google search on it, but I keep hitting "hot flashes." Is this just a different type of  fever? or...?  It doesn't occur anywhere else but the torso.  I'm just curious, this has only happened to me a couple of times in my lifetime and I'm interested in knowing the process. It's probably something simple...but I feel a little stupid for asking. )

Likely it is some variation on hot flashes induced from the hormonal shifts of your cycle.

You could take your temperature to make certain you aren't running a fever.

(And ask your doctor.)

When it's happened before, have you come down with a cold a few days later?
Beyond that, if it happens occasionally but with no other problems, I'd just chalk it up to the variables of hormones.
