Blaming his "financial advisor".

Really? If your employer hired you to do a job and you not only didn't do it but cost the employer millions in tax penalties and loss of revenue, do you think you'd be justified in saying "Don't blame me, it's their responsibility" or do you think the employer would be justified in taking you to court and demanding restitution?

Why? I can pay to have other people do things for me. I have paid electricians, carpenters, and plumbers to work on my house. I have paid auto mechanics to work on my car. I have paid airlines to supply pilots to fly planes that I was on. I also pay a CPA to do my taxes.

There is nothing wrong with hiring others to do work for you, and expecting it to be done honestly.
