also word of mouth for me, i had a online friend who told me about it and i am so glad He did. He showed me websites to read and so forth. This was 5 years ago i guess and met my first Dom in real life about 2 years ago.

Reading about it...

I used to babysit for a fetishist couple and I knew even at 13 that the best books were on the top shelves. <weg>

I also had a boyfriend give me a copy of the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Roquelaure when I was 17.

After that, I went and found everything I could read on the topic.

The desire has been in me since a very young age, but it was through books that I was able to discover that there were others who had the same wicked thoughts as me.

I guess you could say I am a Natural Born Domina.

I remember getting excited making the neighbor boys beg to play with me. And how I enjoyed making them eat dirt and do other things just to hold my attention.

i have a few "milestones" that don't quite fit the questions. as long as i can rembember i had pretty strong fantasies about bdsm (before i knew what that was). i had a career move which introduced me to the psychology and practical application of domination as a tool of interrogation. i recognized and welcomed my submissive nature after being divorced.

I was born into it also. My parents, and Grandparents were lifestyle. Due to my increased online interaction, on sites like collarme, I have become aware of those who seem to be surprised or disturbed by the fact that there are those of use who were raised in the lifestyle, and became active at a young age. I became active in the lifestyle at the age of 16. Truthfully, I would have to say I was actively dominant long before that. I didn't make little boys eat dirt, lol, but they certainly did all of my chores.

I got into BDSM at an early age by ting up my baby sitters, neighborhood girls, my cousins, my sister’s girl friends, my girlfriends and then my X wives. I did not actively started exploring this lifestyle until after my first divorce. As far back I can remember I have being into bondage. Even at the age of 12 I would have dreams of kidnapping a women and then chaining her down and turn her into a sex slave in a dungeon.

It was word of mouth for me. My sister became interested in BDSM and asked me to look some things up for her. I started researching and saw a lot about D/s that fit me. I have always been a submissive type and in the vanilla world I was viewed as being needy and easy without much respect. Now I am enjoying my newfound identity and sexuality.

my Dad had the movie "The Story of O". i was in highschool when i watched it when they were out of town.

in college my bf used to love to switch....when it was my turn and i would have him cuffed to the dorm bed, i'd feel like crying.....

but it wasnt till much later in life i discovered this world on the internet and finally, i had found home.

I read a book when I was 14 called Miss High N' Heels. I got it at a used bookstore and really have no idea just how old it is. (I am 31 now) but it was about a boy who was completely feminized and kept in bondage by his stepmother and stepsister after his father died. It was very good, I read it in less than 2 days.

For me it sort of but then again isn't two fold.
I believe I may have been born into it. Yet, at the same time. Perhaps not.
Make sense?

I did a lot of research about the lifestyle via people and library at the age of 12. More research as I aged. Learned zero from the internet. Other than frustration.
I knew when I started researching that I was a submissive. Very much in control yet, when there was an actual authority figure standing before me it was a very different story.
I could date it back to my first real memories at 4. I'm sure other's have thought about it as well.

So, was I born into it or did I learn of it? Don't know..but I'm me.

I followed a friend into a chatroom and got hooked, but I'd been fantasising about it since I was 8 or so.

I had poly fantasies when I was younger, and if someone asked me to get "a couple" of whatevers, I'd get three. If they asked me to get "a few", I'd get two. A "couple" always meant three to me, and still does. I don't know why

ive been trying to remember the impression it left with me back then.....
all i can recall is thinking how neat the dresses were (that the slaves wore) and just how handy all those ottomans were (the men would use them to bend the girls over).

lol.....memories......so much fun to think back and see what shaped my sexuality. i thought i knew so much back then. my dad kept his playboy and penthouses right out in the open. he would even bring me the magazine to read if there was an interview of someone i would be interested in. i vividly recall an interview about the rock star Billy Idol. My dad passed away about two years ago. My lil sis has since shared with me that back in the day my dad was president of the local swingers club. OMG. i'm amazed that someone who was so open about his sexuality could produce someone who is so shy about hers. but what a delicious goal for myself to try and overcome.

What first got me interested was when I was dating a guy years ago and he tied me up - my first introduction to bondage - and he liked pulling hair and spanking ... I really got off on that..

Sooooo.. I started doing some reading, talking to people online/offline.. then 3 yrs ago I met someone locally that was involved in a BDSM group in my city and he urged me to join. I've learned alot about myself since joining 2.5yrs ago and continue to learn more each and every day...

I always hear people saying they were born into BDSM, somehow I don't think anyone came out of the womb holding a single tail...though as a baby we are all mostly Dominant in our nature with our decisiveness for survival and attention. And yes, I understand bred slaves, but even in such I don't think they really conceptualize their lifes plan until they are at least into their toddler years. I can say that maybe there are some genetic strings somewhere in certain people that make them far more hormonal and susceptable to enjoy such a life. Me personally I came into my first remembered desires around 4, chasing around the neighbor girl with a net...and it was all downhill from there.
