Concerning vanillas only: I think there's a class of male who, when he's with his partner and most of the time, simply doesn't care what he's doing. He won't care which restaurant they're going to for the evening, when they go out nor what they eat when they get there. He won't even care what she wants him to wear, how his hairstyle looks, nor what kind of aftershave he uses. It doesn't matter, so long as he's with her. I was like that with my last.

Now, stated like that, this might look either cringe-inducingly wet; or, perhaps, disgustingly slobbish. It wasn't particularly either for me, though. I'm just quite an introvert and a great deal of the day-to-day events of my partnerships aren't of much interest to me. They can occur this way or that way, or not occur at all - I don't much care. Most of what happens in my life happens inside my head. So long as I'm in a place where there's not so much noise that I can't think, I'm usually fairly happy. So, if she wants to take control of what happens *outside* of my head - well, that's fine by me.

I always sign my own Christmas and birthday cards, though. I don't *entirely* rely on a partner to maintain my contact with my family and old friends.

I was thinking about this recently. When Larry David of "Curb Your Enthusiam" was not allowed to play golf on his wife's birthday...that is pussywhipped. He would have been back in plenty of time to take her out and give her a present. If her birthday had fallen on a weekday, he would have been at the office all day. Grow up, Cheryl. I submit to milady in many things, but I won't entertain a woman who wants to act like a two year old.

Once again your glaring multicolored insight has zeroed in o exactly why I would like to submit. It's very much about love and that feeling that you know your secure, safe, and well cared for in the hands of another. I'd want to be of usefulness to someone I love, to be valued and to make thier life easier is a great reward in of itself. In my previous vanilla relationships I was expected to lead which left me feeling awkward and uncomfortable, it just didn't suit me. I even go so far as to carry my friends purse in public. (and to be quite honest I felt quite confident doing so, it'd make my life easier if I could carry one as a guy, and my pockets a whole lot lighter) A guy should be happy and proud to help out their special lady and to make their lives easier, would I catch some flack? Yes I probably would, but knowing your making better half happy is it's own reward.
