DarkSteven -> "Weal" and "twue"... (10/23/2009 4:24:40 AM)

Does anyone know where the speech affectation in those terms comes from?  Is it based on Madeline Kahn's role as Lily Von Schtupp?

Just curious.

More Schnitzengruben?

CaringandReal -> RE: "Weal" and "twue"... (10/23/2009 5:25:28 AM)

They sound more Elmer Fuddish to me.

BTW, I always hear them in my head being spoken in tones dripping in sarcasm and bitterness (whether or not they actually are!). But these words seem to pop up in hate contexts a lot. They seem the sort of thing people say when they can't think up any sound, intelligent criticism for something. "Oh just called it "weal" and "twue" in scathing Elmer Fudd tones and THAT will shut them up! " ;)

"Weal and twue" is a way to deride those people who have the user's manual to the one and only true way of BDSM.
