Status: offline 		I don't think that the actual intended effect is to get the info.  I think it's to drive doctors away from performing abortions.

The article says that there are penalties for not providing the information.  But it doesn't mention what the penalties are for providing the WRONG information.  If I were a doctor in OK, I'd have an inexplicable computer glitch that entered the wrong data that somehow matched the wives of cosponsors Lamb and Sullivan.  And claim HIPPA confidentiality when they demanded to see the original records.

Status: offline 		Since Roe v. Wade was not for the right to abortion, but for the right to PRIVACY, I cannot see how this would stand up to the first challenge to it in court.  And I cannot see how HIPAA would not quash it either.

Especially at an abortion clinic.

Not to worry though, the pain fades after the first forty or so years I understand.

Status: offline 		If the ' government option ' becomes law, federal bureaucrats will know of every procedure that you plan to have or have had. This isn't much different in my mind. I don't like it either way, but the hand writing is on the wall for all of us.
