Hello everyone,
i'm not sure where it's best to post this but thought here would be good so all will see it. i've met a Dominant and at Her request, i'm deactivating my profile until further notice. It's been wonderful meeting and speaking with many here and hopefully i will return soon to tell of a new beginning. Until then, take care and be well.

Sincerely,
anthrosub

Red Flag or just insecurity on the Dominants side?

::laughing:: thanks Gloria, I was curious about that one myself. But then, I have never understood the need for isolation in any form as a *get to know* or *basic training* thing. Losing the right to chat or even use the computer as punishment is a different matter :)

Well, either way it is a serious red flag to me. If the Dominant isn't secure enough in herself. How can she take control of the submissive?
If telling him he cannot chat to others. Isolating himself. Well, hey we have another slavemaster. Or worse, she allows him to live.

I was curious about that also. Taking a break during training is one thing. Deactivating one's profile altogether is another matter entirely!

I just re-read Anthrosub's original post, and apparently he has just met this Domme. I'd give this a little more thought.

Well, I can't go that far without even knowing who the person is and their reasoning. I took a month long break from reading and posting (with a few exceptions), and a couple of years ago unsubbed from EVERY list I belonged to. Both at the request of Master. *If* online was my life, it could be considered he was isolating me. But, he has never suggested cutting me off from my family, for that matter, forced me to call my mother after not having spoken to her for close to 2 years because of her disaproval of my life choices.

Well, that was quick...i'm back.

"Learn to live, Live to learn" That's the first thing i saw engraved in the arch over the front door of my first school and i'll never forget it. Everyone is correct about the Red Flag issue. i should have known better but i guess i let my frustration at wanting a relationship get the upper hand. After virtually no email exchange and about 3 hours of phone conversation, i was asked to spend this Labor Day weekend with her as a "get to know" visit. BUT...this would also include engaging in D/s activities and we hardly know each other.

Perhaps others would have no problem with this but i have to have feelings for the person i'm going to offer my submission to first. Until that occurs, we are just two people getting to know each other just like any other relationship. This is paramount to me because the whole interaction would be hollow without it.

Another flag (for me) was that i asked for a photo and she doesn't have one. That's entirely valid but i'm not about to drive 200 miles to meet and spend three days together and potentially be put on the spot when i arrive at her doorstep. There was also the issue of having to quit my job (if we decided to pursue a relationship) and find something either in NYC or Philly which would require 2-3 hours of commuting each day which is ludicrous. In fact, that was the thing that got through and started me to thinking about what i was doing.

i have to laugh at Mistress Dread's comment about the squeaky wheel. i do hope i don't come across as the squeakiest wheel trying to get the grease!

i look forward to continuing my interaction here with everyone.

Sincerely,
anthrosub

Welcome back anthrosub, glad you recognized the red flags. I like the "squeaky wheel" thing, maybe i will nominate you for that LOL.
