grammerpolis -> Total Newb - your advice appreciated (10/30/2009 5:12:45 PM)

Hi there, readers.  I am a total newb hailing from Canada.  I joined this site because I want to explore my kinks and the internet seems safer and more accessible than some of the other options that are out there.  Actually, I don't really understand the other options.  Also, I am shy.  I definitely would be interested in hearing from people who can direct me towards good resources.

If I don't say so myself, I'm a pretty good internet searcher, but the signal-to-noise ratio for kink is very low.  I'm a real person, with integrity, and I'm looking to meet other people like that.  I am a 38 year old man, strong, fit, successful & responsible.

Based on what I have read so far, I think I am probably a switch, but would like to get started by exploring my submissive side.  I have a lot of questions.  I'm not judging, but frankly I find a lot of the shit that some people are into to be too scary, but part of me is wondering if just how depraved my "deepest, darkest desires" might be if I go looking.  I guess I'll find out!  (I am not in a rush to lose my innocence, either... if that happens I want to enjoy it).

How do you meet people who might be compatible?
Where should I try chatting?

There's many, many strings here in the forum archives - as opposed to chat.  You can also use the search function (above and to the right on most pages.)  You seem to have a good attitude.  I like that!  WELCOME!  As to compatibilty - the "other side" as it's called, that is, collarme.com instead of collarCHAT.com also has a search function by locality.  Best way to get c-mail (collarme-mail) is to put up a picture and a decent, medium length profile.

P.S.  Try your search using "Newbie"

Just back from "perving" your profile.... Not too bad.  You say "looking for an intresting woman."  Problem with that is that your interesting woman might be the next guy's "bitch in heels."

Write for the reader, not for yourself!

Profile is a little short for my taste. (Do as I say, not as I do. LOL!)

Also, I don't know where else you've been, but you are in a buyer's market.  Many, many men could have written your profile.  You have to market yourself to the ladies here.  You can certainly approach women here, but remember that many of them get c-mails daily from men in which they have no interest.  Hint, do not c-mail anyone without first having read their profile and understood it.  You should put something about your common interests in your introduction.

Seems your background can be used to great effect, if only you consider this a sales job - NO exageration, mind you.  Again, you are in a buyer's market.

Good luck in your search and, again, WELCOME!

Welcome to the boards - if you want to "chat" as in irc, I would recommend the Caves of BDSM on the collarme.com site.  Very friendly people.  no role play.
