we FINALLY fought with the IRS long enough to get them to send us the $4G check theyve owed me for several years (WHY THE HELL CANT I CHARGE THEM ALL THE PENALTIES AND INTEREST THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME???)

Anyway...wrong subject....and I know I cant just go blow the whole thing on frivolous stuff...but after I pick up the new M4, I really am thinking of getting more ink before I shove the remainder in savings....

so what does a 10" by 15" patch of back go for these days?

I was told here in Oz tatt artists basically (on average) make $120 per hour...

Okay no joke. I went to grad school with a guy who had a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. We called him barcode boy. I always wanted to ask him what the function was :P I think someone said it had something to do with that show dark angel.

More recently I worked with a guy who had a barcode tattooed on the back of his shaved head.

Lucky for me, Sir loves when i get inked as much as i do. Sir's never made me get permission to actually make the appointment, because sometimes it just "happens", but Sir has helped me pick out my next few pieces. i am obligated to immediately send Sir a txt picture when it is finished though.

i am very close to my tattooist and his wife. He'd never tell me i wasn't allowed to move. He's not Dominant like that, but he has told me several times how he loves working on/with me because i am his rock. His work on me is beautiful (i've gone to other shops just to check them out and had the artists absolutely drool over my leg), and he contributes that to how well i sit for him, as well as his awesome talent! We have the same taste in alot of things, also. My leg is a cartoony jungle theme, my favorite and his.

The piece on my foot was something i saw in passing that he had drawn and i said "hey i really like that" and he said "yeah? it'd look awesome right there on your foot. let's do it" and so....after having to have his wife come get us centered because we both knew we couldn't ge the placement quite right, there it is now, on my foot

Ugh i'm getting the itch to get some work just thinking about it. i had told myself i was waiting until after christmas though! dang ghita and her post! lol

Is that Aussie dollars, Hiltie? It's roughly in the neighborhood of what tat artists charge hereabouts (this little college town) in US dollars, tho' the artists who are in more demand in the big cities charge more, upwards of $250 per hour, depending . . . . . Some charge by the piece, after negotiations; but they base their prices on their own rough estimate of how long it will take, so it's still essentially an hourly charge.

I'm only about 5%-10% covered at this point, & I'm already into it for about $3,000 (US) . . . . . Oh, & I tip. Well. I'm a good tipper in general, but despite the high hourly wage a tat artist may charge me, this is one of those places where skimping seems ill-advised . . . . . .

I really really really want to get some work done by Pat Fish, who specializes in Celtic knotwork tats . . . . . So, not just whatever she charges, but also gettin' there & probably a hotel room for after . . . . . (& I what I most want are some Celtic knotwork wings on the back of my upper arms . . . . . So, not gonna be cheap at all, I suspect . . . . .)
