artglfr -> older sub starting her period again (3/8/2006 2:11:45 PM)

Recently there was an older sub who talked to me at a Play party. We discussed her health issues and she appeared healthy and ready to play. We played and afterwards I sat with her to help her come down from the rush and after she was ok, I left. The next day she told me she had started her period for the first time in two years. she said she thought it was caused by the pressure from paddling.

Is this common? Has anyone else ever heard of this? She appears to be healthy and not having problems but she was certainly surprised.

I highly doubt it had anything to do with paddling, and more to do with hormones. From what Ive heard menopause is not something that occurs smoothly, and there are relapses back and forth as far as periods go. I have no experience with this as of yet, but Im sure there are women here on the board who have experienced or are experienceing menopause who can elaborate on that. I highly doubt you were the cause of the unexpected period.

Maybe she should ask her doctor? And I doubt she'll need to mention the paddling...

When i went through menopause i think the longest time between periods was 6 mo. This sounds a little unusual. Is there any chance she's bleeding from some rough play internally?

Any unexplained vaginal bleeding needs to be investigated, especially considering the long gap between periods. I doubt the paddling had anything to do with it.

Post-menopausal bleeding should never be ignored. She should see her doctor.

Abnormal bleeding, especially post-menopause is not good. Worst case, it's an early warning sign of uterine or cervical cancer.
