then again...i might just call everyone after the holidays and ask if the card i sent was one of those destroyed when a mail truck smashed into a truck full of cow manure...

saves on stamps

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Holiday Time Again (11/15/2009 9:29:41 AM)

I have all my cards written and ready to send out. They are sitting in a lil bag in my bedroom... How soon is this love fest gonna happen? I got no address yet... unless we send stuff soon. Sigh.

I have not done the picture yet for my holiday cards, but ya know. . . you are allowed to send yours out whenever you want!

I talked to the post office and it is 98 cents to send a post card or letter up to 1 ounce to you in the KSA.  You might want to let people know so that they can send you letters as well as post cards!  [:)]

Letters to Canada are also 98 cents and post cards are 75 cents, I believe!

You can also buy the 98 cent stamps in sheets of 20, so people can do that for the holiday cards and then use up all the leftover stamps on you!  [:)]

Gosh I think that is what I pat to mail UK.

Canada was supposed to be part of NAFTA.   So being so- why isnt it the same price?   Parts of CA are closer to me then some states.

I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that we have different currency.....

DesFIP -> RE: Holiday Time Again (11/15/2009 10:34:49 AM)

I assume it's because of all the changes from truck to truck, and that both the US and Canada postal systems want to be paid for their work.

Now if only they would do the work they are paid for....speaking for the Canadian Postal Service

DesFIP -> RE: Holiday Time Again (11/15/2009 10:41:43 AM)

*snort* far be it for me to disappoint you Celeste. Nowhere I'm staying home so I can laugh at all the people who have to go to work while I stay home where it's warm and dry...in other words I have no money to travel.

dcnovice -> RE: Holiday Time Again (11/15/2009 10:48:37 AM)

I sent mine out weeks ago. Of course, they were for 1978.

mine are a few years old...left over from the days when bill were not paid on-line.

If i use them, everyone will have to pay the difference.

Shame.

Well Holly, you can just write straight away on the envelope "postage will be paid by person receiving the mail."

Am sure they will love you even more for that one [8|]

I guess that must be the reason why I still get post here for birthdays and xmas from people I don't even know...

I mean...I am living here now since almost 2.5 years but still regular get birthday and xmas cards for people from the past...and do you think anyone would put cash into it [8|]

I mean...it can't be that adults wouldn't tell their parents that they don't live here anymore with their grandkids, can it???

must be the reason from dcn and zephy...or maybe they still did not update their addressbooks...

I mean...if they would at least have manners to put their address on the envelope as well I would happily send it back, but of course over here they never do [&o]

It is the same price as sending up to one ounce letter to any other country.

KMsAngel -> RE: Holiday Time Again (11/15/2009 1:26:34 PM)

Hmm. . . so it is twice as much to mail an overseas letter from Australia rather than the US.  That is interesting.  Is there a reason for this?  Population level or something?
