This happened while I was in my second year Chemistry at an Upstate NY college. The professor wanted to show us how titrating concentrated acids and bases would produce salt water. He set up the experiment, carefully titrated the two dangerous chemicals using an indicator dye to show when the proper end point was reached. He then drank the resulting glass of salt water right before our eyes. Forgetting that the active ingredient in the indicator dye is the same active ingredient in the most powerful laxatives known to man. ... Class was let out early
