to answer your question, Because they don't have a lot of people wanting to fly that route at that time, and larger planes burn way more fuel.

Yes, now think about what you just said and apply it to Hannity's argument.

Rml, if not enough people buy tickets they use a smaller plane. You can spin this all day. But your not any good at it. What you are arguing is that Public transportation doesn't save fuel or reduce carbon, which is nonsense

The planet would survive. Most suspect that there wouldn't be anything left living on it for very long afterwards, though.
As for Egypt (and the Sahara, which used to be the breadbasket of the Roman Empire) isn't there a suspicion that crude irrigation techniques raised the water table and ruined the land for agriculture? It's depressingly easy to destroy farmland.

In the old kingdoms, and early pyramid times (4000is years ago), there were still glaciers in North african mountains, and Egypt (and the whole North African coast) was lush. Durring the Roman times there was still a lot of water in the aquifers, and coming down the Nile from melting snow from the inland mountains (just kilimanjaro is left and going fast, but there used to be a whole lot). Just ilustrates how the earth has been in a warming trend (with a few blips of cooling, like the one that ended in the 1800s) for about 15,000 years.

Fair point. I'd been led to believe that the topsoil was destroyed as well, though.

I think you are right, Irrigation does increase the salt in the soil over time. Not sure how they deal with it, though there are ways. Leaching? Which I doubt the Romans bothered to do. They were rather expoitive of their colonies. Didn't they intentionally trash the place on the way out also?

I'm not sure it was quite that clearcut, but they certainly didn't make any effort to leave it in a decent state for the new owners.

What is it with this need to add the suffix 'gate' to every scandal since that of the Watergate scandal? Was the Watergate scandal about water? no. So stop with this modern gate nonsense.

Bad practice doesn't prove a conspiracy.

(Oops..for you southerners, that was "homily" not "hominy" so dont be cooking up any red eye gravy...it creates CO2.

They're busy deleting computer files, and trying to get a good price on commercial grade used shredders.

Well geez - you have to shred first before composting - haven't you read the bible, An Inconvenient Truth?

I also hear he's busy advocating for every traveler to have their own private jet based upon an obscure, but using similar to 'global warming' scientific research funded by the Gulfstream corporation, that using a private jet must be implemented immediately to save the planet!

I already checked with my accountant and unfortunately that purchase would bankrupt me and my company. However, I do have him checking into me getting involved in a 'carbon offset purchase' or maybe even a environmental protection grant so I can buy it with economic stimulus money.

If it works out and you're interested, upon delivery I'll pick you up and we'll take a business trip somewhere together. I know doubling up doesn't have the same positive carbon footprint impact; but by the referenced logic if we go to two different places, one you pick one me, it will make up for it.

Following the messiah's example is the least we can do to save the planet!

RML has been hired as his ambassdor at large, since he knows that taking private jets is more fuel/carbon efficient than jumping on a commercial flight. And of course we are all going to have secret service protection so we wont have much choice.

Sounds good, I just moved to Hawaii, and am restarting my bussiness here. Be a few months before I have enough dependable, exploited workers to take a vacation though. But I am making sure I never take public transport agaion, so I can help the Planet.
