I think the theory is that if the boss is perusing profiles on this site, that they are also a member or looking for themselves and would therefore not have an issue with the kink, since it was a common interest.

Eggsactly.

I'd air on the side of caution.

One of the boys I know here is a high school teacher. Of course the logic is that if one of his student's parents come on this site, they should be kinky too, right? But if for some reason he gave their kid a bad grade and they wanted to blackmail him, they could say someone else told them about this...

The thing is, your first post was warning people to air on the side of caution. I think that applies on all online media as well as in person activities.

I don't mess around on facebook. If you knew what you're exposing yourself to, you wouldn't either...

Agree completely.  I keep my privacy settings as restrictive as possible and never take any of those quizzes.

GreedyTop -> RE: Facebook group (11/29/2009 7:58:19 PM)

I detest facebook.

I use it because I have a few people that do, and thats the easiest way to connect with them.  I ABSOLUTELY refuse to use any facebook apps.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Facebook group (11/29/2009 8:00:29 PM)

I am on the Facebook with some of my friends from here. We are all tres vanilla and respectable. Anyone could go to my profile and I would not worry.

LA-You've been here all day. Don't you have a real life? lol.

Indeed I do. A very busy one at that. You have issues with the way I use my downtime?

Sunday is my day to get things done around the house, so between doing laundry, running errands and going to the market, doing research for school and talking to my parents on the phone, I also had a friend and her son over for dinner and I checked in here.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt that it was meant as a joke but it bordered on rude.

Thanks for the benefit, and I was definitely NOT being rude. I beg your pardon.....*backs out of thread*

Yup, just did it :)

Llyren -> RE: Facebook group (11/29/2009 8:57:19 PM)

I like Facebook.  I like the games, and I play lots of them.  Yes, I've taken a few quizzes, most mostly along the lines of 'What Harry Potter Chracter are you Like".  I also have my pastor some teenage cousins as friends, so I wouldn't have anything questionable put on there.

I'd add some people here as Facebook friends, but only if I knew them and I was comfortable with them.  Just like I won't talk to anyone on Skype or aim if I'm not comfortable with them.  Part of being comfortable is that I know they won't start posting kink-related things.

And to take it a step further, it wouldn't even need to be the parents. It could be the students themselves. Does anyone really believe there aren't high-school students browsing these sites? It only takes one kid finding their teacher's profile on Collarme, and by Monday morning the whole school would be logged on and ogling it. And by Tuesday, the former teacher is looking for a new career.

Hear, hear. How many websites can a person keep up with? Facebook, Myspace, text messaging, Twitter.... fuck all that. If I've got so many friends that I can't keep up with all of them by exchanging a couple of phone calls or e-mails every now and then, then the obvious conclusion is that I've got more friends than I'm able to keep up with. And some of them have to go. A person can only be so connected. After a certain point, you've passed the point of diminishing returns, and you need to reassess how you're prioritizing your life.

dreamerdreaming -> RE: Facebook group (11/29/2009 9:59:20 PM)

Facebook, myspace, and twitter are all retarded.

And really, who has the time?

And who really gives a shit what you are doing right now? [8|]

subtlebutterfly -> RE: Facebook group (11/30/2009 1:01:06 AM)

Facebook has become the main medium for event invitations...it is kind of convenient, but it can also be retarded when you don't bother answering and it's like "I sent you an invitation yesterday...ya comin right?? why haven't you answered *blahblahblah*"[8|]

I don't play the games there nor quests..I used to but then spent a whole weekend erasing everything off my profile[:D][:D] except well....fuck farm ville....
almost everybody uses facebook whereas people rarely use myspace/twitter..so it's not that hard to keep up really.

Llyren -> RE: Facebook group (11/30/2009 1:13:25 AM)

*sighs and sits off in her 'pro-Facebook' corner, re-arranging her flowers on FarmTown*

subtlebutterfly -> RE: Facebook group (11/30/2009 1:25:09 AM)

Farm town...?
oh you're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

*decides to check it out after the exam*

Llyren -> RE: Facebook group (11/30/2009 1:27:42 AM)

Farmtown runs much faster than Farmville.  My farm has a lovely river, edged with flowers and trees, as well as a dozen or so cats wandering about.
