Most safety issues have already been covered, but I have one more to add. When it comes time to buy one do your research and do not skimp. A cheaply made tens can cause all sorts of problems, especially as it wears over time. Also note that units made in foreign countries may require adapters if you wish to use them with domestic toys. Some cheap ones require adapters to work with their own brand of toys. Also unless you're an electrician or extremely handy, do not make your own using the plans that can be found online. Doesn't take too many crossed wires to start a fire or give a serious shock. With many things, you get what you pay for. It's worthwhile to spend a little more on something quality, and look for one with multiple channels so more places ca be stimmed.
