OP- Do you have carpets? Was your home flooded?  If so, you will have to rip the carpets out through the whole house, destroy all linens, curtains and etc. My friends home was flooded in the basement a few years ago, and they had an equally bad infestation. They had to get rid of almost everything that was not made of wood, metal or tile. You might even have to bomb  each piece of furniture separately in a it's own bag. I know it's a real pain in the ass, but this might be the only way. I'm surprised the prfessional didn't tell you this.

Good luck....

I didnt read all the posts so forgive me if anyone already told you about this. I had my dog (RIP) and my sister two and my niece one dog and one cat in there too. Fleas, every animal riddled with the parasites...YUCK.

I didnt have money for the vet and honestly loathe the harsh chemicals. I got on line and did my research. My favorite thing ended up being not that expensive at all and totally non-toxic. It worked.

Diatomaceous Earth

Used this on the animals, (good directions on this site) and indoors. In the dry sun we used this in the yard sometimes, mostly indoor usage for this stuff. Awesome stuff

Beneficial Nematodes

This worked really well out of doors.

This worked like a charm. Vacuum, wash with Borax, even leave the Borax sprinkled around also helped. Vacuum after a few days, dries up the fleas and eggs. These things did the trick for an extremely bad case of the verminous fleas and no one got sick and it didnt cost anywhere near as much as the chemical treatments. No trips to the vet.

In NYC I did give my dog the 90$ Advantage ( I think it was called) treatment on the back of her neck but she got really ill too. It felt like the wrong solution. The DE and BN were the trick for sure.
