Usually I get one of those motorized carts for the disabled people because when I walk up hills, my right hip joint will be starting to hurt.  They're none available so I had to take a walking buggy.  First thing I did was return the size 24 capris for some cash *keeps her receipts for everything*  I had to remember what was on the grocery list.  I forgot about half of the list but I did find a decent DVD player, some 3x shorts that go to my knees, organic catnip and my check register since I filled up my old one.

For dinner tonight, we are doing Chinese.  I ordered the beef  with broccoli with steamed rice and some extra egg rolls (we are feeding 2 teenagers here...LOL!)  They held off the brown sauce because I feel that it is calorie-ridden. I love won ton soup and the eggroll.  I forgot to order the spring rolls but Lizard says the extra eggrolls makes up for it.

Asparatame has a whole kitandkaboodle concept of why its bad. Of course i am in denial as my diet coke -- yes i know i have issues lol -- its MY diet coke however, is loaded with it and a bunch of other crap, but i still crave and want it -- its my blankie so to speak.

HOWEVER, a nifty tidbit, the ready made crystal light is or used to be made with splenda. (Check the label to be sure its been a while since i have) So you could always get some of that and FLAVOR lol your water with same. The thing is, i don't see the ready mades as often as i used too.

Thats the extent of what i have heard. The asparatame stalls weight loss and for some makes them hungry and cravings.

I have a question, how many of you utilize the authority, discipline and such of a dom or Master to keep you on track and you sorta report too to help you with your reaching goals?

I am not under anyone at this time unless you count Mom.  I try my best to stick to a plan, but at times, I have to have IHOP, especially when they have their loaded potatoes on sale.  I did skip breakfast that day and was running on low on energy. *cusses out PES for not giving me a signature for a disability bus pass*

Sometimes when I do get up at 2 or 3 in the morning, I am starving to death.  I get a bowl of cereal.  I use 2% milk (refuses to do skim or 1% milk).  If it is later, I will fix up some oatmeal with fake butter and some sugar or cream of wheat.

I have 3 appointments next week, one with the p-doc about my meds, one with my regular doctor about the staph infection and the weight and one with my dentist to get the final cavity-ridden tooth pulled.

Tomorrow, I am going to a city party so I can connect with some old friends of mine.  Do a long walkabout at the park where the party is at and beat on a few drums.  Might even get a fume high from the potheads (I don't do drugs except what I take for my health).

No wonder I keep adjusting my bra...my cups runneth over!

His Evilness encourages my weight loss, so I keep trying because I believe it pleases him as well as makes me feel sooooo much better.  As far as utilizing his authority or discipline, not so much.  I made the decision on my own to lose this weight & get into better shape.  He kinda stays out of it, except when I tell him that I'm eating something not so healthy.  Then all he says is "Remember, you've lost 50 lbs.  You don't want to put it back on, do you?"

ShaharThorne -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (4/24/2010 7:26:58 PM)

A healthy diet should be 1,800 to 2,000 calories. I just did Golden Corral for the "family".  I had steak (2 decks of cards), a ladle each of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.  I ate slowly (but had about 3 glasses of sweet tea), one dinner roll and avoided the dessert section.

I know I will be seeing a dietation  person in the next few days.  I know that they will 'teach' me about a healthier diet.  I know all about it already.  I have tried to eliminate fatty foods, get more fiber in, and since I am on this water pill, a banana per day if I don't take my potassium pill.  I am trying my best and I got yogurt in the fridge in case of midnight snacking (unless Lizard get a hold of them first).

You forgot your veggies, darling. Not a single veggie in that list... at least not the non-carb type...

I"m happy to report I found a lovely place where they will make my lunch - healthy and wonderful - for cheaper than I could make it, and I get to help a small business! Yay!
(sandwich, salad, 2 fruits)

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (4/24/2010 7:33:17 PM)

Sweet tea has an incredible amount of sugar in it!!!  You may know already what you think the nutritionist is going to teach you but you are not putting it into practice.  I think that you could really benefit from listening to this person & open your mind & learn from him/her & put it into practice.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (4/24/2010 7:43:19 PM)

Lizard had the Brussels sprouts.  I was just seeing what was in front of me. (steak, steak, wonderful steak)  I prefer my broccoli raw (same with cauliflower) and the salad did not look that fresh to me.  I did not see any green beans (any beans in fact) and I am loathe corn.

Got to excuse me...*BECH!*  bloody heartburn...

barelynangel -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (4/24/2010 7:54:39 PM)

Shahar, if you don't mind me asking how to you rate what you ate(the steak, potatoes, mac and cheese and the sweet tea) in terms of wanting to lose weight and eating healthy?

barelynangel -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (4/24/2010 8:20:07 PM)

bestheadyet, if you want to lose 100 lbs, then you need to eat MORE, not less. There is a concept your body does that i am sure you have heard of its called starvation mode. Your body will hang on to weight and not let it go if you get into that concept. It needs food, protein, fat, carbs and nutrients. And what many people don't know is it takes fat intake to burn fat already in your body. BUt GOOD fat not crap fat. Good fats like olive oil, nuts, avacado etc.

You are not going to stick with losing weight if you are 1) hungry, 2) your body feels like shit because you aren't eating, 3) if you don't have enough energy to exercise.

Your body also will be burning muscle, not fat if you maintain such a low calorie intake especially with 100 lbs to lose. And you want to KEEP muscle and add more because muscle is what burns calories even when you are at rest, fat does not. So if your body is eating muscle that's less muscle you have to burn fat and well it will take more effort to lose fat.

You don't HAVE to starve yourself to lose that weight, you want to eat so you have energy to burn even MORE calories.

Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind, what ARE you eating? 100 lbs may seem like a lot, but think of it this way, at 4 lbs a week and that's if your body maintains doing that and it won't because of starvation mode, it will take you minimum 25 weeks to lose that 6 months and once you start eating regularly again no matter WHAT you eat, your body will start putting the weight back on. Can you really take being hungry for 6 months, weak of energy, and simply not enjoying yourself because you are hungry for 6 months, a 1/2 plus more of a year?? grins, ya know even sex will be hard cause you won't have any energy to enjoy it, neither will playing because you will be weak.

What you may want to do is train your body to lose the weight and crave the good food, not just crave and beg for food in general.

A friend of mine told me some really good advice once -- since 1 gram of fat is the equivalent of 9 calories, he said to just make sure you burn your fat calories in exercise a day. While its an odd way of looking at it lol it does work when you are gasping wanting to quit and say well hell i just burned another gram of fat!!

You will do what you feel is best for you, and i don't say this often to people -- but i am worried about you. if i can be of any help feel free to message me because i think you will have a discouraging time if you continue with such a low calorie intake.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! (4/24/2010 8:39:11 PM)

Usually I find myself snacking on homemade sweets and diet sodas.  Dinner tends to be the main meal in both households.  Bo is willing to be the person in charge in Austin and Mom is in charge when I am at home.

This is true.  I decided to have the double cheeseburger meal with a coke.  The fries were large.  We caught the bus in front of walmart and I was still hungry.  When we got back home, Bo asked if I wanted something.  I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese.  It provided the final touch to stop the hunger.

When we order Chinese, I try to get the house fried rice and eat half of it.  Last night I did beef with broccoli and could only eat half of it  with steamed rice.  The wonton soup did not taste right and I left that alone.

I cannot do any liquid diet.  I know it will not provide the necessary vitamins that my body needs.  A good portion of the weight is coming from my meds.  Depokate is known for causing weight gain, but it is the only mood stabilizer that works for me.  I am not sure about the thyroid meds.  We thought they were causing the rash on my upper chest, neck and shoulders.  It was a staph infection which should of been treated when I had pneumonia.

I taking calcuim and vitamin D because of the weak bones in my right hip (which does act up if I am walking uphill).  There is the exercise bike back home but it is old and falling apart (I spend more time fixing it then I am riding it).

If I eat anything I have to do it in small bites. I had 2 molars removed since the first of the year.  Add the 2 extracted when I was living in New Orleans, I have 4 molars left and since the molars are used in grinding, smaller bites are better.

My lifestyle is mainly meat and potatoes.  I did cut out chicken fried steak and gizzards.  We bake our breasts in the oven.  Usually we have a pizza about every 2 weeks (though I am sick of pizza).  We make our gravy from a packet instead of homemade (which has lots of fat in it).  Sometimes I will get a candy bar.  We are eliminating potato chips as will.  I will eat bologna and cheese or peanut butter and jelly on any form of wheat bread.  I will make chocolate malt-o-meal for breakfast.  It has been over a month since I had a honey bun.

Asking me to keep a food diary is like asking me to keep all of my receipts that I use my debit card for.  It goes into a pocket of my purse and usually forgotten until I have to clean out my purse.

Okay here's a question for discussion --

In another thread someone mentioned something that made me think of myself and a concept that happens to me quite frequently in my quest to getting in shape again.

Its what i call my point of subconscious and unconscious freakout. This is usually a point in my getting in shape where i usually have lost about 25ish lbs and my body starts to change a little and you can see me getting back in shape. BUt usually around this point, something happens and i stop moving forward and usually end up going backwards in my getting in shape.

How many people have come across this in themselves in their journey to lose the weight and get in shape again?

How and when did you realize this for what it is? I have and will expound later

Do you know what it is that causes this in you? I do for myself but will expound another time.

How have you worked to get past this point of freakoutness and continue moving towards your goal instead of away from them?

I have noticed over & over that I do this.  I think it has to do with my fear of what my body will look like without all the fat under this skin.  I already hate the way my boobs look.  They look deflated to me.  Imagine what they're going to look like after I lose another 70 lbs.  I also seem to have a fear of success in this area.  I've hit this place a few times on my way down this trip & I have managed to get past it so far.
