Japanese Addresses

I'd really hate to be a letter carrier in Japan. I'll bet the public really fears them, cuz they gotta be ready to snap at any given moment.

Well no....because they are used to it. It's only from looking at it from our perspective that it looks confusing.

having carried out bills over a decade as a teenager into my early twenties, gosh I would go nuts with such a system...it was already a pain at times with our system, thank goodness we haven't theirs...so according to that theory I guess if house number 1 would get demolished and another house would be build that this would then be e.g. nr. 145 as it was not the first in that block anymore [8|]

eerr..why would a japanese letter carrier have difficulty reading a japanese address on a letter???

Reading the address is easy, but knowing exactly where to deliver is the real trick.
