Please don't attribute quotes to me that I haven't said (talking about the second quote here).

You know MM, just when I think you want to discuss a topic you revert back to distraction tactics by saying something inane like this to avoid addressing the clear point.

Unless you have multiple personalties who don't agree, I think your original quote and the response source to it was very clear - however just in case - I trust now, though the edit function, it is very clear.

Merry Xmas!

Right back at ya, you idiot.

You're quoting something I didn't say. Hardly a distraction. Address whomever you're responding to. Not really difficult.

Making clear you're repeating yourself, again, clarifies the matter. I know you hate clarity, preferring to dump on additional bullshit, but hey, it's just not that difficult.

I gave you every chance to stay on point here. I ignored the flights of fancy into the blame games. You just can't let it be.

When you have nothing to say, you go back to the straw man and ad hominem habits that define most of your positions.

The point was banking. You're repeating the obvious on that point. Congratulations. I'm happy you've finally mastered it.

But no. You need a last word.

I'm going to work. You babble on alone.

You better go and call 911 and get the police involved because someone has stolen your name and icon picture. The original quote, Post #78, "in reply to 'Mercnbeth', is where you can find this quote: "If the "news" here is that industries don't want to regulated, I think we've finished."'

Your response, instead of indlucing any redress of your increasing regulations position, is there for all to see. Accusing me having the 'straw-man' or bringing the debate off topic is not only hilarious but points to your inability to respond to any challenge in any other manner.

It's 9-1-1 BTW - You may get confused looking for an '11' on the phone.

Getting back to the topic at hand...

It doesn't appear as if anyone is stuffing the ballot box in the Daily News poll. Currently at 53% 'F'; 17% 'D'. Only 16% agreeing or exceeding the grade of B+ he gave himself.

Until Americans get back to work, Obama said, "I can't give myself the grade I'd like."

The ego gets an 'A+'.

Why is there such a disconnect between this President and the American people who less than a year ago would have graded his flatulence at least a 'B'? That these results are coming from New York City indicates how bad a job the general public thinks he's doing; only Berkley and parts of Russia are less liberal leaning. Not as formal or scientific (the reference being to pre-global warming religion science) as say today's Rasmussen Poll; but a good grass roots support indicator.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.

What happens to campaigners once they win the campaign and occupy the office? Is there a 'wall' that is built around the man that makes it impossible for him to take the pulse of the nation he leads? Maybe US Presidents should take a lesson from my Italian ancestors. The romanticized account according to the Patton movie; For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. And a slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting."

It was easier to find the Patton quote than it was to remember how to translate Latin.

According to 'Sister Valaria', my HS Latin teacher, the closest Latin phrase reference to the quote was "Sic transit gloria mundi". However, the literal translation is; "Thus passes the glory of the world." Loses something don't you think?

Also, since the good sister is dead and doesn't have a web page, I could only use my memory as a reference, subjecting it to an issue distracting challenging of it being given as a response. To avoid that attempt I used the Patton movie quote which did have a reference source.

Obviously it didn't work - but that was the idea.

Can you make snotty comments like that to your owner if you've signed a slave contract? I'd imagine that's a few demerits.

~ FAST UPDATE ~

The disconnect with the electorate trend mirrors the results trend.

Less than a year after Inauguration Day, support for the Democratic Party continues to slump, amid a difficult economy and a wave of public discontent, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

The findings underscored how dramatically the political landscape has changed during the Obama administration's first year. In January, despite the recession and financial crisis, voters expressed optimism about the future, the new president enjoyed soaring approval ratings, and congressional leaders promised to swiftly pass his ambitious agenda.

In December's survey, for the first time, less than half of Americans approved of the job President Barack Obama was doing, marking a steeper first-year fall for this president than his recent predecessors.

Also for the first time this year, the electorate was split when asked which party it wanted to see in charge after the 2010 elections. For months, a clear plurality favored Democratic control. The survey suggests that public discontent with Mr. Obama and his party is being driven by an unusually grim view of the country's status and future prospects.
When Howard Dean is the sane voice of a party - it points to a problem. o

There is also the latest 'dooms day prophecy' to consider.

President Obama told ABC News' Charles Gibson in an interview that if Congress does not pass health care legislation that will bring down costs, the federal government "will go bankrupt."

Our leader has me confused on this promise: The president said that the costs of Medicare and Medicaid are on an "unsustainable" trajectory and if there is no action taken to bring them down, "the federal government will go bankrupt." Adding a new bureaucracy and/or adding people to Medicare/Medicaid under this plan, 30 Million of them, will make overall costs go down?

However, unless the US had the "extraordinary tools" it would already be bankrupt.

The latest calculation of the National Debt as posted by the Treasury Department has - at least numerically - exceeded the statutory Debt Limit approved by Congress last February as part of the Recovery Act stimulus bill. The ceiling was set at $12.104 trillion dollars. The latest posting by Treasury shows the National Debt at nearly $12.135 trillion. A senior Treasury official told CBS News that the department has some "extraordinary accounting tools" it can use to give the government breathing room in the range of $150-billion when the Debt exceeds the Debt Ceiling.

The good news from this is as a bankrupt entity, the union bureaucrats will have their entitlement laden contracts up for renegotiation. Maybe some of them will be terminated like the private sector. Maybe then - a person who can not only talk about 'CHANGE!' but have the administrative skills and ability to affect it, will get elected.
