FR - silentsubby is correct. An ablation DOES NOT always result in a permanent case of no more periods. It can lighten them, it can stop them temporarily, stop them permanently or do just about nothing. There is not a guarantee. Often, as was the case with silentsubby, many women end up needing and having a hysterectomy anyway. I am very sorry for the pain you are in. Have you had the fibroids for a while? If they have been an ongoing problem, at your age, you might want to consider hysterectomy. It is the only absolute guarantee that you will not have repeated problems with fibroids.
