ranja -> compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 2:00:25 AM)

Masters,

Imagine you are at a table in a pub or restaurant with your sub having a brilliant time; good food, good confersation...
after a while you excuse yourself to use the lavatory
and when you return your sub tells you that in your brief absence the man standing by the bar (with his flirty girlfriend) just came over (when coincidentally his flirty girlfriend had gone to the loo too) and he handed over his card with his telephone number....

Would you be insulted or complimented ?

complimented.... and amused.

sunshinemiss -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 4:27:07 AM)

Is he a salesman?

OrionTheWolf -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 4:47:20 AM)

This has happened to my girl on a couple of occasions. I always feel complimented, and when the guy looks over to my table, I raise the card/paper to them and nod with a smile.

depends on the card. if he was a plastic surgeon....a wee bit pissed.

SirJ40 -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 5:19:29 AM)

There's nothing better than the look on their face when I have the card immediately upon My return. They expect as much duplicity to exist in My relationship as (apparently) does in theirs.. they're astounded when it doesn't.
Part of the fun of honesty and truth is the fact that so many seem unable to comprehend that type of relationship, lol.
I'm going to go with insult, actually.. that person is, in a roundabout way, implying that babygirl would participate in some form of illicit relationship.. he's essentially (almost) called My wife a liar.
If he's going to go that far, just ask her straight out "do you fuck around?". It's easier. And then she has an honest-to-goodness reason to deck him.

Aileen1968 -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 5:25:10 AM)

It would probably be a compliment as long as the guy didn't physically touch me when he came over.

DarkSteven -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 5:51:11 AM)

I'd be pissed.  At him.  And sorry for his woman.

"The glass of water" is neither half full nor half empty, it is merely 1/2 glass of water.

The glass is always 100% full -- whether with water, air, or a combination.

The glass on Earth it is primarily empty with the space between atomic nuclei. A truly full glass would hold the equivalent neutron density of combining every human on Earth into to the volume of a single sugar cube.

As Miguel Ruiz suggests in The Four Agreements, "don't make assumptions." It is merely an identification card. Sometimes BDSM is too full of fantasy for one's own good.

Neither - I would have had my waiter send over a drink to them and ask them to join us.

If they didn't accept and come by - I wouldn't give any more thought to either of them and toss out the card.

If they accept and come by, we would socialize, find out about each other and see where it goes from there.

Jonnie says he'd be complimented.  He trusts me to make it clear to the guy that I am married, and not interested.

(he'd prefer that I not do it by applying my knee to the dudes balls, so that we could finish our meal...)

*grinz*   I will remember this for the next time! Cause I know you'd share him with me!!!!!!!

Seriously, I'd be more amused than feeling insulted. It would still be up to me to decide to either ignore the other person or see how serious they were.

ranja -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 8:55:32 AM)

thank you all for answering... of course he was a sales man... selling himself for free... and maybe he even was a plastic surgeon haha
he never touched me, he was charming quick and polite... obviously at ease with this way of operating...

i had seen him looking, but had mainly noticed him because of is extremely colourful flirty girlfriend, she was just like a butterfly.
i was somewhat startled when he came over and gave me his card and wondered with amusement if the butterfly had fluttered to the loo on purpose... maybe dizzily floated into the mens?

i understand that a dominant man might be very annoyed that another geezer is trying to corrupt his woman sneakily while the woman is briefly left by herself...
but i can't help but to find that attitude a bit boring and negative and limited...
personally i like a laugh and i vote for options, thank you Merc

lizi -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 9:13:13 AM)

A situation very much like this has happened to my Dom and I and several others that were similar in nature. He feels complimented and seems to enjoy other men conferring approval on his woman all the while knowing he is the one taking this woman home because he trusts me enough to know I won't be tempted away on a whim.

He has told me that 'he knows what we have within our relationship' and his nature is very much not the jealous type however I am a bit jealous at times. I guess I need more of his confidence.

Edited to add something. After I posted this I read Ranja's latest comment about the "geezer is trying to corrupt his woman sneakily while the woman is briefly left by herself... ".
There was a time when my guy got worried and upset when we were on a bike ride. I had told him I needed to catch my breath - he decided to ride up ahead to see what the terrain was like. In that maybe 2 min another man had stopped to 'check on me' (I clearly didn't need help, I was standing there in no distress at all, it was definitely a comeon) and see if I needed help and my Dom saw this and came pedaling furiously back to make sure I was ok physically. There weren't really other people around at the time. So good point Ranja, it wasn't that he was concerned I'd take off with the guy, it was my safety. I think if he ever was in a situation where this happened to me of being approached by someone else it won't ever be a concern of his that I'd be tempted by the man but he'd be worried for my safety.

your sub should have rejected the card

ranja -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 10:40:29 AM)

Justme, so you would be annoyed with her for having accepted it then?

Navina -> RE: compliment or insult? (12/14/2009 10:52:16 AM)

The card would never have gotten into my hand in the first place. I don't tolerate poaching.
