Hi. I've noticed this several times...why or what is the feeling that lingers the day after a session. Sometimes lasting several days. I'm not quite sure how to explain "what" it is. I hope I'm not making myself sound like a complete idiot?:)
thank you for any help

That'd be my bet too.

There have been many threads about sub drop on here, so do a search and take a look at what people have said. Some form of sub drop seems to be nearly universal.

Yes, as the two fine gentleman ahead of me have stated, subdrop...if the "what" is a down feeling. However if it's a euphoric feeling that keeps you tantalized by your bruises, soreness, memories...etc

I call it "a good session!"

You beat me to it Kevin. The OP handn't described the feeling and folks assumed it was a down, dull, depressed or insecure feeling, if it is then yes it is likely to be subdrop.

However, as a young lady remarked to me recently, some things can leave a happy floaty sub for several days after

I have found that the day or two after a good session, My mind begins to process everything a bit more. All that we have experienced seems even more 'real' the next day. I think sometimes, with so much that goes on in a few hours, (scene), I can't enjoy it to the full extent... and as reality sets in, I can think about every aspect in detail... I absorb it all and I think it's a wonderful thing.

What kind of feeling is it? While several of my compadres have given you what's probably the answer, I didn't note in your post whether the feeling was an up or down feeling.

I personally have a Domme high that I float on for days after a good session and with regular and frequent contact, I can maintain it for long periods of time.

I think the happy floaty feelings and the despairing dropping feelings have to be related. For one thing, I'm told that they're processed together. Sub drop isn't just depression; it's a complete re-orientation that affects everything from mood and perception to appetite, self-awareness, and so on.

Think of it this way. You've just been used. You've just been given a chance to be what you are instead of what you've been pretending to be (which is another way of saying the same thing). Especially if it's intense, it's bound to affect your morning after.

you are welcome. I think that many emotions found in relationships within this lifestyle have more intensity than those of the vanilla world. Physical and mental/emotional strain, combined with all the other amazing feelings relationships can bring, often takes time to sort through. If your feelings are positive.... bask in them, nurture them, and hold them as long as you can. If they are negative, learn from them, share them with your Dominant Person, talk them through, and grow.
