The cops as far as I could see in the first three adds were male. I also didn't read those as BDSM at all. This is how advertisers deliberately make an advert about a dominant male. Unpalatable hardly seems adequate.

The vanilla public would see no distinction between an abuser with a victim and a dominant male with a consenting partner.
