I certainly won't speak for Steven, but I can tell you that when I was looking, I discovered that trollstomping caused women to hit on me, in any forum. For example, in Ask a Mistress about a year ago, the much-missed Lynnxz and I were capping on a misogynistic snot, each of us trying to come up with funnier insults than the other. It was a great way to spend an evening, and the cherry on top was a letter I got from a poster I am sure you respect, saying she was impressed and attracted, and if I was ever interested in being sub, to please let her know. I've even had male posters disparagingly call me "Sir Galahad," because they didn't like how a man with a dom profile would defend women against statements made by other men with dom profiles.
Different people use the message board for different reasons -- and my own reasons have changed over time. But for most of my time here, I used it as a tool to meet people (especially single women) in real life. I'm busier now, and I feel less need to impress the opposite sex, so I'm writing less, and I'm ignoring trollposts completely.
