You like computer games and Harry Potter which implies you live in a fantasy world.

How the hell do those things imply that he lives in a fantasy word? I love computer games and Lord of the Rings, comic books and cosplay. I feel I'm pretty well grounded in reality. [8|]

Me, I think if someone says they like the Bible and prayer, they live in a fantasy world.   Someone who likes Harry Potter and video games probably has a better grasp on the difference between reality and make-believe.

Then I'm really screwed. I'm religious, pray and dig video games and fantasy books. [:D]

I've had fantasies like that, although in my fantasies it's "my" girl that's tied up while the friend's over for a gaming session.  I would be more than happy to show off my girl to other guys in a 'look but don't touch' kind of way (or even in a 'touch but can't keep' kind of way).  Practice makes perfect for being comfortable with being the non-owner in that situation, though.  =P  (I've had a little practice at some of the parties I've been to...but for now, it does kinda creep me out a bit.)

I'm working on a picture.  I plan on getting lasik start of next year so I'll feel more honest about having a picture without my glasses in it.

I gotta say... Val's never been creeped out by other guys fooling around with me. Even when we weren't poly, I always scened with other doms/tops. It was just something I did that I didn't want to give up and it never occured to him to ask me to stop.

I wouldn't worry about the glasses thing. I don't usually wear them in my pics but I wear glasses 90 percent of the time and only wear contacts when I'm going out or cosplaying. If it bothers you, you can always put it in your profile that you just happened to be wearing contacts or have them when you got a good picture or something - or that the lens flare kept fucking with the picture. As long as you don't hide it... meh.

Crap. I actually didn't mean that to come off as a dig at religious people.  Apologies if any offense was caused.

I was specifically thinking of the kind of person who think things like "A giant fetus shaped hurricane destroyed New Orleans because God hates fags."  But I swung for a fly with a baseball bat.

Eh... it's all good. I figured you might be joking, hence my still joking response. [:)]

And yeah... I don't blame ya. Those types drive me crazy too. It kinda makes me want to grab a Bible and smack them over the head going "THIS IS NOT A WEAPON!".

But that would be hypocritical of me. *le sigh*

~Fast Reply~

I actually heard a really good sermon once where the Rabbi was saying that Jesus was objecting the handling of money, so that he would have had the same reaction to the nice elderly gentlemen taking up the collection plates. It's stuff like this that makes me really want to learn Hebrew so I can read the text without dealing with translations.

Yeah, don't appreciate the thread jack quite so much (religious debate is something I have strong feelings on).  Touching back to what you said Aquatic, certain things I just haven't had much exposure to.  I used to be really jealous of guys and avoided being with couples because of how lonely it would make me feel.  Practice makes perfect, it doesn't bother me anymore, or at least not as much.  I'd only get 'creeped out' by that situation because I don't really understand it, what I should do, how I should act, that kind of stuff.  As I said before, from the owner position I'd know what to do fine, I'm in control, I set the rules for what's acceptable and what's not, and that's that.  As the non-owner in that situation, I don't know what's expected, and I don't know if what's expected is what I want, etc.  So yeah, it still creeps me out a little.

I don't really get to socialize much or often, but the more exposure I get, the more comfortable I get, and the less hung up about some things.  Or I find that I'm just as hung up about something as always.

Actually my comment is in the entire context of his profile. He asked for an opinion, I gave one and I still feel the same way [8|]

Glad to know it's helping someone else too.  ^_^

Yeah me too. I just don't feel the same way about thread "jacking". So I can't say I'm sorry it happened but I'm sorry it offended you.

You might take this the wrong way, but I think you should get out more and socialize just in general, work on your jealousy, and your ability to be around couples when you are single before you get into a real relationship. Jealousy issues will come up and they can be exceptionally hard to deal with if you don't already have a strong grasp on them.

Really didn't come off that way. It would have been easy enough to write: You like and X and Y so in the context of your profile...

Thortok2000 -> RE: Female subs: How's my profile? (12/22/2009 4:29:46 PM)

I know I need to socialize more, I just find difficulty in doing so.  To be honest, I thought I'd be a lot more nervous about entering my local BDSM community, and it's the easiest community I've ever joined.  =P Finding and joining other, non-BDSM communities is actually proving to be harder.

Valyraen -> RE: Female subs: How's my profile? (12/22/2009 5:28:40 PM)

I know the feeling - God, I was nearly petrified going to my first meeting with Kitten... and my second, and my third... and I at least had the benefit of someone that I was already comfortable with. At the first meeting, we stayed well after the end of the party, just talking with our hosts. I was amazed at how readily everyone accepted me being there, despite the fact that we were the only people in the room (I think, since I didn't bother to check IDs) under 30 years of age, by quite a margin at that point. I could just be me, and that was okay... sure, I got some odd looks (I've got a really strange sense of humor sometimes), but never got a feeling that anyone was passing judgement on me.
