I leave my profile on collarme because I'm looking to meet friends in the lifestyle, that's why. I changed my profile to state simply that I'm owned and looking for friends. It does annoy me sometimes the messages that I still get. I began ignoring them, but it's kind of annoying that I get a message and think, oooo, maybe someone nice to talk to, make a new friend, and instead it's some spam from a Dominant, asking/demanding that I be theirs, and they didn't even have the curtesy to read my three sentence profile. But oh well, I live through it.

I couldnt agree with You more. I say friendship first Ds second. if you dont make good friends you wont make good Dominant and sub. and We all need friends or at least I couldnt live life the way I do without My friends

I have in My profile I am not looking to own or collar and I still get tons of email stating they want to be Mine . move in serve Me etc. I simply email back friendship is offered but nothing more and tell them if they have questions if I can answer I will. just lead them in the right directions.
if that doesnt work. you can always block and ignore, but I love making new friends. be they submissive or Dominant.

I don't know if anyone else is doing this but since collarme introduced the Hide User option, I've started to put the subs and slaves who state they are owned into there. It's less drastic as blocking someone who's done nothing wrong and I don't think that the person in question knows they are bieng hidden. 

Why block someone just because they are owned? They are on here for a reason, and more than likely are here with permission, so let them be and just hide thm, no harm, no foul...

But it seems that those who run the site and approve the profiles have no issue with people who are already owned posting profiles.  It is their site and it seems that they think it is appropriate.

I think it's just SO RUDE that people who aren't seeking ME haven't deactivated their profiles. I mean, an example: Today, I saw an ad for a beautiful dominant woman who wrote in her ad that she's ONLY seeking another woman. I mean, what's with that? How is she going to get ME if she's seeking women? If she deactivated her profile, then there wouldn't be any misunderstanding. I mean, I accidentally read her full profile. What if this had been normal, and I didn't read her profile but just emailed her out of the blue without reading a single word? I would have wasted all of my time when she responded that she wasn't seeking men. How inconsiderate of her. I mean, I'm a busy guy. I've gotta look at a lot of pictures of pretty women and then write them one line laundry lists of what they're allowed to do to me. Who has time to read the darn profile? Dammit, I think the nurse forgot to give me my pills again tonight.

well thats good yes I may be new to the boards but I am not new to collarme I am polite and respecfull and try to offer encouragment to thouse that are looking and what not. . but when I do run across one who might be in my area and would like to get to be freinds with them, either since my spelling sucks or they just can not be bothered to even send that kind of message back to me. it is not the profiles that saying that they are owned that bothers me.  it is the rudness that comes from nbot at least saying that they are not intrested.

Easy reason for this, people have made friends with some one collarme, and deactivating profile, well thats  basically saying okay i don't wish to talk to you anymore, there are many who put OWENED, DO NOT ASK, and STILL they get asked.
Heck, i have a Protector, i have said it a thousand times in my profile, and journal friends only. simple fact is people do not read on collarme. they see a picture, they like it, they write a letter, it seems everyone is too lazy to read a profile, that is why so many who are owned have the problem, it's not them,  it's the people who contact them, and do not read first. ^_^

Why do so many "Masters" (I use the term only because they call themselves that) have to hunt so hard for slaves?  Doesn't it seem reasonable to believe that a slave should search for a Master?

No more reasonable than the opposite.

If people want to search, they should search.  If people don't want to search, they shouldn't search.  What your orientation is doesn't really matter at all.

I was fortunate in being approached by My special one, 1 month after she joined collarme and 3 months after I had joined. She did not deactivate her profile TVslavedoll, but changed it to state that she had found her perfect Mistress and required a photographer of her in bondage, detailing the bondage equipment and fetish wardrobe she has. I did not deactivate my profile but stated I had found My perfect submissive, I remain online to mentor and contact friends. TVslavedolls profile was hacked and therefore we took it down, making Me miserable that I couldn't show off My beautiful girl.
