I'm new to the forums, and maybe its just the small sample size but I see some disturbing trends where posters seem to have a strong misogynistic leaning.

There's a part of me that thinks they are merely trolls seeking reaction, and if that's how they enjoy filling the emptiness in their lives the more power to them.

But...there is a part of me that wonders if some who truly hate women see BDSM as an outlet for their anger?

It lends credence to some articles I've read by the anti-BDSM crowd that all dominants are misogynists (these articles exclusively attribute dominance to males).  But we all know that's bullshit.

Is this a new phenomenon, Where places like CM have become venues in which misogyny can be worn like a badge?

I see a lot of it, but being a fucking female probably makes me more prone to seeing it more vividly - you know how we're so detail-orientated and unable to see the woods for the tree because we have smaller brains than you guys.

That's what being a natural slave will do for ya. *Sigh*.

I've seen more of an inappropriate use of the word misogynist,(not in your post).  I think somewhere, some hear the word used and think it is synonomous with: hardcore dominant males, who believe in in the natural order of men being dominant and women being naturally submissive.  For some reason, they then go out and self-proclaim as misogynist.  That's just my theory.

it would seem to me that any dominant that understood the submissive mind well enough to control would not also be a misogynist

i think a true misogynist not only hates but fears women

Hi Op
Yes there have been some attention seeking domineering-whores that are using these boards. I am not really concern about them. IMHO I see a major difference between a Dominate and one who is domineering. The later hide behind the cloak of a Dom , pound their chest and wonder why no one takes them seriously. They spew all this crap about women, and in my book it is a good thing. They are advertising exactly what they are...a whiny give me bratty domineering child. Not my cup of tea...but maybe someone elses.

Sure: there's a planet over there called "Gor". Scoop over to the Gorean forum section and do a quick search.

Otherwise, there was a thread a while ago on the subject of breast feeding: it was illuminating, to say the least. Here's a link to it: The ridiculously long breast feeding thread As you can see, the misogyny was positively rampant. It illustrates perfectly how dislike of women stems from abject fear.

There are also quite a few individual posters who are notorious misogynists, but I shan't bother stroking their egos by posting their names here: needless to say, the less I see them, the better I feel .

And I actually see blatant misogyny and we are told that to not tolerate is to not respect a difference of opinions.

Funny how one's perspective is different when we are on the side of the attacked, huh?

Funny how one defines attacked. I do not mean to invalidate your feelings.

I suppose it is inevitable though  for you to feel that way.

I do not see rampant misogyny, I see rampant, but HUGE, fragile egos that simply LOVE to toss the word around whenever things are not going their way. Those same egos tend to have a hyperactive sensitivity to broad juvenile/toilet type humour.

Oh I don't feel attacked personally. I feel as though womankind is sometimes.

I'm a bit tougher than that however ;-)

I notice this as well. And this comes from men, woman and everything in between as well as doms, subs and everything in between.
