Janet Evanovich's characters Ranger and Stephanie Plum. I'll take Ranger first, and then, he's not leaving [:D]

[:D] I'm much more of a Ranger person than a Morelli. Stephanie can stay as long as she doesn't blow up my car.

My 5:

Professor Stephen Hawking - Just because he may be the greatest mind on this planet right now.

Rex Stout - Author of the Nero Wolfe mysteries. I am a huge fan of Nero and Archie and I would love to hear what he had to say about his characters.

Peter Gabriel - I met him many years ago and we had a wonderful conversation. He is one of my favorite musicians. I would have him bring along Tony Levin his bass player too, he is my inspiration.

Laurie Anderson - Intelligent, wity, artistic and I am sure has compelling stories to tell.

My grandparents on my father's side - They both died before I was born. I would have loved to know them. And I would want them to meet their Great Grandkids.

In case one or two couldn't make it:

Edgar Allen Poe - A tortured but interesting man

Gillian Anderson - (Dana Scully from the X-Files) I have a serious thing for her.

Apparently you've never heard Clint play... he composed and did all the music for his movie Mystic River.... <smiles> I bought the CD... truly classic

I was just teasing ya........have you ever seen "Bird" or "Play Misty For Me"?.........Eastwood did a fine job with both, and his love of jazz really shone through on them.

Ayn Rand is a good one, and one I thought about.......but I've a feeling Chris Rock would be swearing at her before 30 minutes was up, and there goes my party heh heh.

Allen Ginsberg, Diane diPrima, Jack Kerouac, Willaim Burroughs, and Ken Kesey.  No one will eat much, and you know the punch will get spiked.  Gotta love it.

Okay, probably not the safest group to have at my dinner table, but I think the following would make for fascinating, intriguing, and totally insane conversation: Benjamin Franklin, Lucrezia Borgia, Rasputin, John Donne and Carlo Gesualdo.  And, if I can add a sixth, I'd like Nigella Lawson to co-host with me simply because she appears to know how to throw a good dinner party and I have a wee girl-crush on her.

I would invite my mom and dad and my best friends Sue and Katey.  I would invite them because they have all died and I miss them terribly. I would also invite the Owner so he could meet all of them.

That would be so cool.

Assuming everyone can magically speak English:

Ben Franklin -- smart as hell and quite the ladie's man he'd definitely keep conversation moving.
Angelina Jolie -- because I plan to seduce her and have my way with her afterward.
The Marquis de Sade -- although given Angelina's recent comments I might have to worry about him getting to her first.
Dorothy Parker -- she's too freaking funny and is sure to drink to much and be sarcastic as hell.
Dick Van Dyke -- he's always been one of my favorite entertainers.
