Collars as accessories?

Absolutely..... A piece of Gorean Steel is supurb decoration abouyt a girl's neck, especially when the Master has the only key.. Such lovely accessories as chain can be attached too... Such a collar and even chain (especially a shirik) is excelent accessories for all forms of dress and best for nudity too...

Iron Bear,
I have to agree with you a collar can be a wonderful accessory. There are so many various styles of collars that a slave/ submissive coule change collars depending on the event or outfit or simply her owners mood.

I have NEVER seen a shirik in person though the pictures I have seen do look beautiful.

A good collar should be strong and firmly secured so that little hands cant unfasten it and slave poachers cant remove it without a struggle.

A good collar which musy have a sturdy ring built into it is essential for neck chaining to a fixed point, leashing and neck chaining within a collel. (Although this can be done also ny wrist chainingand ankle chaining.

Harness leather is good for collars but steel is best.

That's only if the s-type has any interest in "escaping".  Which I'd have no interest in - either escaping myself (from Sir), or of owning one who wished to escape.

Yes, it is one thing if the Master adorns her with it.  But i understood groundling's post as something she might wear for fun.  i may have misunderstood, and if so, i stand corrected and thank you for replying.

No, really - collars as accessories, to be worn as the wearer sees fit.

It's not blasphemy, it's fashion.

Collars are *symbols*, and being *symbols*, they mean drastically different things to different people.  While some would never think of wearing a collar someone else hadn't put on them - others don't think that way.  It's not wrong - it's just not *your* way.

For my personal view a collar has three functions.

1.  Remind the wear of their status..they are a slave
2.  Remind the slave they are owned.
3.  Remind the slave who their Owner is.

For me - there is no need for these reminders.  Yes, they're nice, and they feel all good and swooshie - but they are unnecessary.

When i am feeling insecure or afraid or uncertain about something, or when i miss him, i find my hand - as though on its own - wander up to my collar to play with it a bit.  Oddly, when i have blown it about something with him, it feels a bit more snug.  When i am getting ready for work in the morning, i glance at it and smile.  It is not that i need reminding, because who i am is cemented in my heart.  But the collar, along with my brand, create a different emotion in me from the sense of being marked.  Hard to explain.

From your perspective perhaps yes.. But I answer from the shoulder and from a Gorean View point... Thus what I said was true for all kajirae.. That is fact  for our lifestyle and that is all I know and am interested in....  If perchance the ways of a Gorean lifestyler aee opposed to your lifestyle ioy may be thatyou prefer to ignore posts from those who identify as Gorean... Iron Bear, Ya know that hint was not for you but for someone I life with. <glances over to the couch wonder when / if he is going to read my posts>

Ya, know speaking of collars and how they make you feel. A link on mine broke and its been 3 days since I have had it on. It feels so strange. My hands keep going up to my kneck to feel it. It does serve as a reminder sometimes-especially for me it is like the easy button for his voice telling me things like "Mine remember be tactful." or "Mine no you can not tie up the bank teller."

Though I do think of it as an assessorie as well. It goes well with just about everything I wear because it is something I can dress up or down and now I can do not have on and blah my other jewlery just does not cut it!
