Careful Brain, you're beginning to think like a dreaded "neocon". Maybe you had better ease up before you start jonesing for your daily Limbaugh fix...

I hope you are wrong but unfortunately for some crazies it may be true. It's hard to believe that they are that stupid to believe that martyrdom bullshit but they keep blowing themselves up so there must be something to it.

Unfortunately, stupidity has nothing to do with it, it is a matter of faith.  It is the same for military personnel who are "willing to die for their country."  It just means you are willing to die for what you believe in.  It is not stupid or crazy.  Every man who ever wore a uniform, myself included has been willing to put his life on the line, otherwise we would not have joined.

But you forget, when a Muslim is martyred, he gets 72 virgins when he makes it to heaven.

Close, but you're missing a key difference. These martyrs we're dealing with are not just willing to die they deliberately die, while except for the rarest occasions we train and equip our forces to live.

And its not just 72 virgins, there are 72 mansions each with 72 rooms and in each room there are 72 virgins. This in a society that raises the most sexually repressed young men possible.

I think faith makes people stupid no matter what religion it is, Muslim or Christian or anything else. I know from my own experience I have a better appreciation and understanding of science and facts now that I'm not religious. The world makes a lot more sense to me without God. I like it that people are responsible for their own lives and not some imaginary man in the sky that doesn't exist.

I think it might be because I used to be one of them in my youth. I was always strong on defense when it came to fighting communism. Now that I've gotten older I don't take these threats as seriously as I used to, especially when the United States spends 10 or 20 times more money on weapons than all the other countries combined. If I have a fix these days it's for coffee because I quit smoking several years ago. I have to say it's hard to believe I was as scary as Anne Coulter or Sean Hannity in my day. And I suppose a person could say there are always exceptions to the rule.

I wonder if Mr. Ahmadinejad is aware of this?

quote:

Iran leader's comments attacked

Mr Ahmadinejad warned Muslim leaders not to recognise Israel

The European Union and Russia have joined condemnation of the Iranian president's public call for Israel to be "wiped off the map".

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's remark has already been condemned by individual EU states and Canada who all summoned Iranian diplomats for an explanation.

A top Israeli minister called for Iran to be expelled from the United Nations.

The White House said the comment showed the US was right to be concerned about Iran's nuclear programme.

Ahmadinejad is no more the Iranian leader than I am. Despite all of the fuss about rigged elections last year, the cunt's just there to make the country look more like a democracy and less like a theocracy. He's the Sooty to the Ayatollah's Matthew Corbett.
